Shopbop Spring Sale: Tried and True Favorites

It's every blogger's favorite of year, the Shopbop spring buy more, save more sale;)  But for real this sale can be really awesome if you save up to buy some things you know you'll keep for awhile like jeans, shoes, watches, or sunglasses.

I rounded up some items that I own and love and would recommend to a friend.

Shopbop Sale Tried and True Favorites

1. Pitusa mini Abaya dress- this was such an easy, fun throw on cover up and I love that it completely covered my back.  I have it in this mint green but love all the bright colors in comes in.

2. Karen Walker Super Duper-  these have been my favorite sunglasses for over a year now.  I love the oversized look and they are so comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. I feel like I can't say that about a lot of sunglasses.

3. Ray-Ban Wayfarers- these are a classic that never go out of style! I've had these in black and tortoise through the years and can't say enough good things about them.

4. Sundress Indiana Beach Dress-  another fun beach cover up! I have two of these beach dresses and always get so many compliments when I wear them.  The tassels and ruffle at the bottom are so much fun.  Just remember to have someone put sunscreen on your back so it doesn't get burned :)

5. One by Pink Stitch Maxi- this was my go-to sundress for pregnancy two years in a row.  It's not maternity but I found it be one of the best easy throw on dresses when I was pregnant.  I still love it to this day and it comes in a rainbow of colors.

6. Tory Burch Square Sunglasses- I love this classic square style of Tory Burch sunglasses so I picked them up in this pretty blush color for spring.  So far I love everything about them, and now want them in every color they come in.

7. Rag & Bone The Skinny Jeans-  another favorite I've owned for a few years now.  I'm actually about to buy a second pair because I'm about to rip an unintentional hole in the knees of mine. They're comfortable and super flattering, plus I love the dark wash for winter.

8. Nixon Kensington Watch-  I wear so much black in the winter that this watch has been on my arm most of the fall and winter season. I picked it up last year and love the quality of Nixon for the price since this was my first.  I will have to retire it soon for this adorable blush one.

9. Sam Edelman Petty Suede Booties- these were another new purchase this fall but I would recommend them to anyone.  They are the perfect bootie to pair with jeans and run around the town with kids.  The heels is low and they're so comfortable.

10. Sam Edelman Hazel Pumps- These pumps!!! Everyone needs a pair if you don't have one yet! They're so comfortable and come in so many good colors.  I rarely ever wear heels anymore now that I don't work full time so when I do I want them to be comfortable.

11. Michael Kors Ritz Watch- I've had this watch for years, years and I still love it to this day and get tons of compliments on it.

12. Tory Burch Thin flip flops- I was given these as a gift when I was pregnant with Miller and I've loved them ever since. They're thin but on the thicker side of thin if that makes sense and are a lot sturdier than other flip flops I've owned.

13. Havaianas Slim flip flop- one of my favorite easy throw on summer flip flops.  I have these in gold and silver and never tire of them.

14. Citizens of Humanity Rocket Sculpt Jeans-  these are my newest jean purchase that I posted about last week.  Still a huge fan and hoping to get them in another wash since they're included in the sale.

Thoughts for Thursday: Naptime Confessions

Welcome back to another Thoughts for Thursday! Remember you can write about anything you want and link up with us below.

- I'm so over my kitchen renovation.  I know this is a first world problem and not something I should whine about but I've reached the point where I'm so ready to move back into our house that I just want it done!

- As of last Friday our contractor said at least 4 more weeks. Insert crying face emoji here. 4 more weeks is exciting but I'm also thinking that might really mean 6 more weeks.  Everything just seems to be taking so much longer than I thought it would.  In order give a buffer for any problems we're hoping to move back into our house the second week of April.

- I just really want to be back in for Easter so we can host our annual Easter brunch.

- I'm so ready for spring and summer! We've had a mild winter here which has been amazing but my kids have been sick pretty much every week since the week before Christmas.  It just seems that we cannot catch a break.  Right now they both have a runny nose and cough and Miller has an ear infection

- I do not get the obsessions with these Marc Fisher sandals. I know I'm probably losing my blogger card as I say this. Maybe it's because I'm tall so I usually avoid 4in heels/wedges at all costs but they just don't look comfortable.

- I really need some ideas or suggestions for hiding fruits and vegetables in food.  Matthew is a super super picky eater.  I thought Miller was bad but he's nothing like Matthew.  Matthew is very stubborn and strong willed and will not try new foods.  He has a few staple meals he will eat and that's it.  I'm trying to come up with ways to incorporate new foods so he'll eat them or hide veggies/fruits but I can't seem to do anything to trick him.  I'm about to talk to our pediatrician because he seriously lives on Chobani raspberry greek yogurt and a waffle with butter.

- Since the kids have been sick I haven't been able to get to the gym and I'm back on my eating poorly, being lazy train. It's so bad and I need a diet overhaul.  I cannot do at home workouts, I know some of you swear by them but I just can't do them so I need to change my eating habits.

- I'm thinking I need to try an isagenix or advocare to really jump start my diet. Anyone tried these?  I have some friends who swear by them.

-I really want to wear a bikini this summer, and not just at the beach where no one knows me.  Hence why I need to get my butt in gear.

- But let's be honest is my love of pizza, wine, and cookies greater than my desire to wear a bikini... maybe lolol

Current Obsessions

Happy Wednesday Friends!  I've rounded up all the things I'm obsessing over this week. I'm having a moment with dresses and spring clothes today.  I have to thank this glorious mild February we've been having.  It's got me convinced that spring is here despite what the groundhog said ;)

First things first I have to tell you about these jeans.  I posted about them back in January  saying I hoped they were as good as the reviews and I'm here to tell you they are!! Ever since I ripped my beloved Seven jeans I've been searching for a pair just as good and couldn't find anything.  Enter these jeans.  They are flattering and comfortable.  They say high waisted but I would call them more of a mid-rise, as other reviewers stated too. I now want them in every wash they have!  They're a bit of a splurge but designer jeans is one place I splurge because I find they are worth it.

How cute and comfy is this wrap cardigan?  The perfect go to over workout clothes or athleisure wear

J.Crew Factory Mixed Stripe Shirt
You all know how I feel about stripes.  Loving this mixed stripe from J.Crew Factory.

BB Dakota Jazlyn Shift Dress
I'm always looking for cute basic shift dresses that you can dress up or down.  BB Dakota always does such a good job with the shift dress and I'm loving this navy one.

Chelsea 28 Lily Scallop Tote

I've been looking at this bag on the internet for awhile now and I've never quite understood why people liked it.  Then I saw it in person at my Nordstrom and now I kind of love it.  It's a great size and looks perfect for summer.  Since it's a faux leather I wouldn't even have to stress about it getting wet or dirty.

My favorite J.Crew factory shorts in an adorable print.  I can already envision these with a cute long sleeve white or navy tee.

This shirt is now on my wishlist.  I love the subtle off the shoulder look and the longer back. Perfect for pairing with skinny jeans.

I feel like I always post about dresses here but really don't have that many fall/winter/spring ones in my closet.  I usually find dresses easier to wear in the summer but I this one looks like a great transition piece from winter to spring.

Loving these open toed booties! I really think I need to add a pair to my closet, especially now that our weather is so mild I might be able to wear them soon than I thought

Off the shoulder lace perfect!

Navy Camelita Pom Pom Clutch
This clutch was my favorite last summer in the natural color and I'm loving the navy blue.  The best part is the clutch is only $40!!

Since Easter is late this year I think this will be my Easter dress.  We usually do church and then brunch at my house (fingers crossed we'll have moved back in by then) and I'm thinking I'll put the boys in seersucker so this would be a good match.

 Rose Quartz & Moonshine Earrings
These earrings get all the heart eyes.  They're way out of my price range right now but would look so gorgeous with a black or navy blue dress.

Gibson Cozy Fleece Peplum Top

Even though it's been mild lately I've still been eyeing this cozy fleece peplum top.

Dolce Vita Wales Slide Sandal
I don't know if I can wear mules.  I imagine my heels slipping out the back the whole time I have them on but I do love this trend and thing it's fun for spring.  Have any of you tried them?  Love or hate them?

I have my gala event next weekend and I still don't have a dress.  I've had my eye on this one along with a few others that I've just ordered to try out.

What are you obsessing over this week?

Weekend Recap

Did you all enjoy the three day weekend? I totally forgot Miller didn't have school on Monday until about 7pm Sunday night.  It was nice to have a slow Monday morning and Kyle got to be home with us for a bit before he left for a trip.

Our weekend was really low key.  We had originally planned to go to PA to visit Kyle's family but we had too many things we needed to close out for the house renovation and just needed to get them done.

Our weather was so so nice! I really can't complain about a warm weekend in February. It got up to 72 Sunday and in the low 60s yesterday which was incredible.  We spent so much time outside just soaking it all up.  It's making me so excited for spring and summer!

Saturday after the boys soccer practice we went to a friend's beach and let the boys run around and play. It was in the high 50s but the boys had a blast.  PS- if you have a Soccer Shots in your area it's such a fun activity for the boys.  It's sort of an introduction to soccer skills but a great way to burn energy on a weekend morning. Bonus is they take kids as young as 2!

This kid is way too grown up these days! I can't stand it!

Then we went on the hunt for a carpet runner for our stairs. So hard to narrow it down and decide what we like.  While we loved the sisal, the salesman we were working with said they're not the best for high traffic areas so we looked at some wool sisal and wool blends that were stronger.  I have some samples coming it to try this week so we can make a decision.

I've been living in this Free People poncho, these jeans and my favorite Target slip ons this winter.

Sunday we met my parents at the house so they could see the progress.  I shared the updated pics here on Thoughts for Thursday.   Then Kyle did some yard work while I played in the back yard with the boys.  Just spending a few hours there has made me so antsy to move back.

I mentioned on instastories a few times last week that my hair turned orange and brassy when I stayed with my parents because there water conditioner was broken and we didn't realize until after I had showered.  This Joico purple shampoo and Pravana The Perfect Blond hair masque have worked wonders! They've pulled out so much brassiness and lightened up my highlights.   You don't want to over use them and turn your hair white/gray but I think these will be good additions to help keep my blonde bright.

Have a great Tuesday Friends!

Saturday Shopping: J.Crew New Arrivals

J.Crew is killing it with their new arrivals this spring!! Ahhh I want everything.  I'm just hoping this mild winter continues and we really get an early spring.  Plus to top it off they're having a 30% off sale on most items with the code WEEKEND.  Which means you can buy more, because you're saving money ;)

I'm obsessed with this dress. You all know how much I love stripes. I already love the top version of this but I think a dress would be so much more fun.

How adorable are these sandals?  They would be such a fun transition piece from winter to spring with the light color but the suede material.  Now if only I lived somewhere with more mild weather...

I love the color of these jeans. I don't own any colored jeans but think these would be such a fun addition for the spring.

I've having a moment with statement earrings.  I never used to wear them and now I love them.  I love the color of these and feel like they could so with so many neutral and bright colors.

This swimsuit! I remember when Julia posted it last summer and then it was sold out.  The minute I saw it was back in stock it went right into my cart.  I know I can't wear it for a few months but I know it will get a ton of wear this summer.

Can I get married again so these can be my bridesmaids dresses?!?? They also come in light blue.  My bridesmaids wore navy J.Crew dresses but I'm loving this seersucker. This would be so pretty and understated for a wedding this summer.

This bag may or may not be on it's way to my house right now.   I have a thing for J.Crew bags.  They are made of quality leather for such an affordable price.  This one looks so much more expensive than $69!

Love the light wash of these jeans.  I love the way they pair them with stripes and leopard print.

How fun are these light blue sunglasses?!  Such a fun addition to your sunglasses collection.

I've raved about these shorts for years and when they came out with the 4in version a few years ago they became my go-to.  They're flattering and come in such a variety of colors.  Love this pink and the gray.

Because one can never ever have too much navy and white stripe in their life.

Again with the bags, everything I said above but love the white.  I have wanted a white bag for years but avoid it because of the kids.  I don't think I'm ready for one yet but quietly counting down the days until white is safe again in my house ;)

I'm a sucker for a good pajama set. Plus they're blue and white and gingham. I mean how can I say no to these!

Have you seen the J.Crew new arrivals?  Are you a fan as much as I am?

Thoughts for Thursday: Life, My Birthday, Valentine's Day and House Update

Hi Friends!  Thanks for stopping by another Thoughts for Thursday. Sorry I was MIA last Thursday this winter has been so rough on us with sicknesses! The kids just cannot catch a break, every time I think we're better they catch something new.

I picked up these the DV slip on sneakers from Target and I swear I've worn them everyday since! They are so comfy and only $25.  I can't believe how comfortable they are for the price but they really are.  I personally think they run about a half size big.

Last Wednesday was my birthday, as I mentioned here.  Kyle was able to get off work early so we decided to take the kids and go out to dinner. All I wanted was a jumbo margarita.

That same night, after my jumbo margarita both kids woke up in the middle of the night with 103.6 degree fevers.  I hate when they're that high. They were both miserable and felt like they were on fire.  We struggled all night to bring the fevers down going back and forth between tylenol and motrin, snuggling them and trying to keep them cool but keep them from shivering. I think Kyle and I slept maybe 2 hours, it was like having a newborn again.  We were zombies.  Then Kyle left at 7am on a flight to Michigan and I got to single parent super sick kids for two days.  Of course a trip to the pediatrician gave me the dreaded virus diagnosis.  They did test them for flu and I was so thankful they tested negative. Even the nurses commented that they knew my boys must have been really sick because they were never that quiet and subdued in the doctors office.  They both still had fevers on and off Thursday.  Miller was feeling better by Friday but Matthew was still miserable and fighting fevers.  It was so sad and I felt so helpless. We spent a lot of time on the couch, I'm pretty sure we watched Cars over 10 times in a two day span.  By Saturday everyone was feeling much better.

Since the kids were sick I had to miss two girls night outs for my birthday (and a few friends birthdays), which was a little disappointing but thankfully Kyle and I got to go out with my sister and brother in law on Saturday night to make up for it!  We went to Vida Taco in Annapolis for dinner and drinks- it was so so so good!! The drinks were amazing, and so was the food. I cannot wait to get back there again.

This is called Purple Drank which is sangria and margarita mixed together- Amazing!

I got the chicken taco and fried avocado taco- friend avocado is so good!

We stayed at my parents house on Saturday night so they could watch the kids and then celebrated with a little birthday brunch in the morning.

Miller and Matthew helped my mom make my birthday cake :)

Donuts from my favorite Carlson's donuts in Annapolis with a mimosa

The house is really coming together! We are still at least a month away from moving in but the painters will be in tomorrow!

It's not painted yet but they finished installing the shiplap and framed mantle over the fireplace. I'm obsessed!! The gold doors still need to go but besides that I'm so happy with how it turned out.

The kitchen cabinets are in too :)

Now we're just waiting on our faucet to arrive so that our marble can get cut and installed!!

I think we've finalized paint colors, but I'm not positive yet so I'll share more once we finally decide. We are leaning toward Sherwin Williams Eider White which is the bottom right hand one for the kitchen, family room, and sunroom.  The SW simple white and incredible white both looked too yellow/beige on our walls.

Kyle was out of town for Valentine's Day so the boys and I had a donut date at their favorite Wegman's and then we made a heart shaped cake for dessert that night.

When we were leaving Wegman's Miller said "look mom we best friends holding hands" and my heart about exploded!  I love these two so much and I love watching their brother relationship grow more every day.

Miller said no frosting this year since the frosting was white and not chocolate! So we just did red sprinkles instead.

I picked up this road tape from Amazon and it's been a huge hit for the boys. I think when we move back to our house I will run some of this on play tables in the basement but for now it's working great on the floor and sticks really well. We're all walking all over it and it hasn't budged at all.

Sorry it was a long one! Thanks to everyone who made it to the bottom of the post!  Now remember to link up below.
