Thoughts for Thursday

Happy Thursday!!   I feel like this week is just flying by!!  I hope you all will join in our first ever Thoughts for Thursday Link up!  Just grab the button below and link up at the bottom.

Thoughts for Thursday

-I am completely hooked on Ladies of London!  After only one episode I think it's going to be so good and better than any of the Housewives (I'm over most of them at this point).  I think Marissa is my favorite American Brit and Caroline is my favorite real Brit.  I think she lives in a castle.  I would also like to add darling, brilliant, and quite nice to my vocabulary.

- I went to the dentist yesterday for the first time in 3 years and I had ZERO cavities.  I am honestly still in shock.  It also makes me think that my last dentist was shady.  The last one I saw 3 years ago told me I had 3 cavities that had to be filled right away. He rubbed me the wrong so I refused to go back to him and then life got in the way and I never found a new dentist until I decided I better start taking care of my teeth again.  When I brought it up to my new dentist he told me teeth looked great and I had no cavities!!

-  I'm having the hardest time with Miller eating lately.  He just really has no interest in any food unless it's macaroni and cheese, and even then he doesn't eat that much.  I've tried making his bottles smaller but that doesn't make him eat anymore.  He used to love food but lately meal time is miserable and he fights everything about it.  Anyone have any advice?  Is this a phase?  Is this normal for 11 month olds?

- Miller's 1st birthday party is at our house in 3 weeks and I feel like we have so many things to do around the house to get ready.  Ahhhhh!! I'm trying to stay sane and not obsess over every detail but it's hard not to.

- I'm trying my hardest to embrace all things "boy mom."  Despite what some of you may think I'm quite girly and really not into dirt, or sticks, or getting dirty at all. Ever.   Buuuttttt I have a little boy now, who is all boy and threw a fit to sit in the dirt and play with sticks at the park this week so I relented.  I wiped him down with about 100 baby wipes afterwards but I feel like we're making steps forward.

- I felt baby #2 kick for the first time yesterday!  I started feeling flutters last week but today I felt 3 distinctive kicks.  I was afraid baby kicks wouldn't be as exciting this time around but I was so wrong, the feeling was just as crazy and amazing.

- I haven't looked at any pictures of Kim and Kanye's wedding!! As a recovering celebrity junkie I am quite proud of myself. I'm so over Kim at this point I just don't even care.  I am excited though that Kourtney's having a thrid baby.

- My love of smocked clothing for Miller has gotten out of control.  I swear I get something new in the mail at least once a week.  I know that my days of dressing him will be over before I know it so I'm taking full advantage.  I also remind my husband that if he was a girl it would be ten times worse :)

- We having a problem with who's chair this really is.

  3. As you know, I loved The Ladies of London too - it looks like it's going to be awesome! Kids go through a phase with eating... don't stress it, when he's hungry he'll eat :) I have to always tell myself the same thing. Maybe he's teething? I know that when my kidsare teething they eat less. Congrats on the kicks, I miss that feeling - the best! And I agree on Kim - I'm over her too - I stopped following all (except Kourtney) on IG, they were getting on my nerves haha.

  6. Haha OMG that chair was made for a dog. I think you need another one so everyone has a place to park it. So over Kim, as well. Maybe we'll get lucky and they will leave the country (or planet)? Yay for baby kicks! Must watch Ladies of London now!

  7. The eating could have something to do with him teething too! Brody seemed to have a decrease in appetite when he was teething. I also find that right now Brody is starting to really have opinions about food. He either loves it or HATES it and some of that has to do with texture too I think. I'm sure its just a phase and all should be better soon!!! You are giving me baby fever again with these talks about baby kicks!! Gosh how quickly I forgot about those sweet moments!! I'm ready for you to find out the sex already!!

  8. I have the hardest time with the whole dirty thing with a boy. I'm not sure when it gets easier to deal with. We definitely had a big change from good eater to picky around one - it's like all of a sudden they have very specific tastes. When do you find out what #2 is!?!?

  9. I need to go to the dentist! Have been since I moved. Kind of scared to go!

I don't know much about feeding an 11 month old, but I do know I would eat mac and cheese everyday if I could.

  11. Oh boy - guess I better brush up on dirt and sticks and all things baby boy! Blaire's pretty high energy and wild but I don't usually have to keep her out of the dirt. :) And you're right - if this baby is a girl the clothes will just get worse. I've been searching high and low for baby boy clothes but I've bought significantly less than I had with Blaire. There's just so many fun girl options - dresses, ruffles, bows, leggings. There's always something adorable! That said, the baby boy clothes at J. Crew - ADORABLE. So I'm still getting into plenty of trouble.

  12. Embrace the dirt and the mud! It only gets worse. I found a worm in our washing machine a few days ago. And wait until they start making mud pies. Oy. You will be forced to forgo those cute smocked clothes for durable ones that you don't care if they get ruined (because they will). Loving that photo of the pup on the chair! That's hilarious.

  13. Ha! LOVE the photo of Layla. I got hooked on your blog because of her.... well that and the MD connection! We got our mini goldendoodle just a few months before you. Disco absolutely LOVES my son's PBK anywhere chair also. Our son has about outgrown it (he'll be 8 in a few weeks), but the dog has claimed it as his own. With regards to Miller's eating, our pedi always said they'd eat when they're hungry. When we went through that I continued to offer a variety of things- some were successes, others not so much. As I recall, some of my son's favorites around that time were quesadillas, black beans, tortellini, cheerios, bananas, etc. So sketchy about your old dentist saying you had 3 cavities and the new one saying there weren't any!

  14. That's a nice clean break! No one has to suffer a faulty product when it stops doing what its supposed to do, right? Same goes with dental service. Wise move in ditching the old one and going to another clinic instead. It's really nice that you were told that your teeth looked great and you don't have cavities. Congratulations with that! :))
