Five on Friday: Life, Lemonade, Eleven Months, Etc.

TGIF!!!!   This week has been a long one.  Kyle's been out of town all week and single parenting is not for the faint of heart, needless to say I'm ready for him to be home and hopefully for the sun to come out this weekend.

1. Life

2. I have an 11 Month Old
- As of May 27th I have an 11 month old.  That means there are only four weeks until my baby's first birthday.   I have so many mixed emotions about this day.  This has been the greatest and fastest year of my entire life.  I am so happy to see my baby grow up to be a little boy but I am so sad to be losing the baby in him at the same time.  It seems that he learns something new everyday and grows up a little bit more.  He has made me slow down and appreciate the little things in life so much and I try to cherish these moments as much as I can.

He likes to tell stories while he eats and Layla plays watch dog waiting for a piece of food to drop.

 3.  Lemonade Love
-Unlike my first pregnancy I have had very few cravings and food aversions.  The only thing I've been loving is lemonade.  I seriously cannot get enough of it.  It doesn't matter the flavor just as long as it's lemonade.  I decided to try not to bring it into the house and save it as a treat when I'm out to eat.  (we will see how long that lasts) To curb my cravings at home I've been drinking lemon water.  It isn't the same but it does the trick (for now).  Anyone else crave lemonade while pregnant?
Strawberry lemonade from The Greene Turtle was so good.

4. Meeting Bloggers in Real Life
-I've had the pleasure of meeting a few bloggers in real life and just recently met Meg of Boo Boos and Briefcases. If you don't read her blog yet you need to check it out- she's a mom to two adorable girls and is about to make the move from Maryland to North Carolina with her family.   I'm so sad we didn't meet until right before her move because we had such a good time at lunch!  If I wasn't on a schedule set by my little guy I think we could have sat there for hours talking, it was like having lunch with an old friend.  She was such a sweetheart and I can't wait to follow along, via blog, on her new life in NC.

5. This Shirt
I'm loving this shirt from Anthropologie and it looks bump friendly.  It's apparently in stock at my store so I'm going to try it on today.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

  4. Our boys are going to be toddlers soon!!!! I can't believe it. Do you find this pregnancy a lot different so far? As in, you might think it could be a girl instead of a boy??? Can't wait till you find out!

  5. Your little man is so cute! We've been drinking a ton of fruit infused water at our house lately too in an effort to ditch Propel + San Pellegrino's blood orange soda. I keep a giant pitcher of water w. lemon in the fridge and then make a batch of sth more fun {usually a mix of raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, mint, cucumbers, etc.} and put it in a dispenser for weekends. Have a great weekend, hopefully you get a little R+R w. your hubby home. : )

  9. We have some homemade lemonade in our frig right now!! Love it in a strawberry slushie.
So I totally hate when people say the next stage is better than the last and I adore a baby but my favorite age is 12-18 months (there I did exactly what a hate). It is such a sweet balance of baby and toddler.

  10. Cute new shirt. Yay for blogger meet-ups, but boo Meg is moving. At least you got to meet beforehand though. Little ones always grow up way too fast! I haven't tried it, but am wondering if the pitcher with the infuser in the middle would help lemonade-os; you could put lemons and fruit in the middle!? Happy weekend :)

  11. First - you are too sweet and I'm trying to figure out how I can make it to Annapolis one afternoon next week so that we can hang out again (and you can meet A&G in person)! I seriously do not know how single mothers do it (and don't go crazy!) so enjoy your time with Kyle back home this weekend. Hopefully you can go take some time for yourself while he's home! I craved lemonade like crazy with Abby toward the end of my pregnancy and the girls has been obsessed with lemons since she was able to get her tiny hands on one! Miller's in such an amazing age right now (through about 18-20 months) and I know you're going to love these next few stages with him! Have a great weekend!

  12. I am loving lemonade as well! I buy it in the frozen can and pour it into a large mason drink dispenser. I than water it down a lot! Which is actually how I prefer it but this also makes it less of a guilty drink choice. Have a great weekend lady!

  13. I love that top! So awesome you met Meg! She seems like such an awesome person! I've met a few bloggers in real life and it's such a blast! Bloggers just get each other, as silly as that sounds! Have a good weekend!
