Bump Style: Mid Week Muse

First of all I want to THANK YOU for all of your sweet comments on yesterday's post.   I will fill you in on more details later this week about baby #2 but for now let's talk trying to look fashionable while pregnant.

For my last pregnancy I was working and I felt awful for majority of it so I spent most of my time in maternity work clothes or pajamas.  I can guarantee you that I rarely looked good last pregnancy.  I bought a lot of maternity clothes and unfortunately most of them are work clothes that don't really transfer over to staying home and sitting on a floor with a baby.
This time around I feel completely different and my goal is to buy very few maternity clothes and try to work with what I have in my closet already and buy non-maternity items that I can wear now and post baby.  I'm not sure if this will work or not but I'm going to give it a try.

In the mean time I'm trying to get some inspiration for dressing the bump cute since it popped out so.much.faster. this time!!

As much as I kind of hate Kristin Cavallari, you have to admit she has great maternity style...

Of course Reese always looks chic, baby bump or not...

I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing a lot of dresses this summmer.

So tell me what's your favorite bump style?  Any suggestions for where I should look for chic maternity clothes?  Thankfully oversized is in these days so I should be able to pull off quite a few non-maternity items this summer.

  1. I loved both of their pregnancy styles and think you can definitely live in maxi dresses this summer and into the early fall! Have you tried asos? One of my friends got a bunch of cute stuff there really inexpensively and her outfits had lots of style!

  4. It's so much easier to deal with maternity clothes when you don't need work ones! H&M always had cute, comfy things and I got a lot of pants and shorts at Target, Old Navy and Gap. You can wear tons of comfy dresses too! So excited for you!!

  5. I am so glad you're pregnant! This post is great! Oh man, those pictures just make me feel sad about my own maternity clothes. Almost nothing I wore last time fits (BOO. But at least it's all too big!) so I'm buying all new stuff. I'd kill for that coral dress Reese is wearing. And the gray one. Okay, all of them.

I feel like I find a cute piece here and there but no favorite resource for maternity clothes. J. Crew has some cute tunics that work over a bump right now. Gap, Old Navy, and Loft have all been pretty hit or miss for me so far. I never find stuff at Target but this was super flattering and CHEAP. (There's a 20% off maternity items deal on cartwheel too.) http://www.target.com/p/liz-lange-for-target-maternity-short-sleeve-shirt-dress-assorted-colors/-/A-15038272?reco=Rec|pdp|15038272|CategorySiloedViewCP|item_page.vertical_1&lnk=Rec|pdp|CategorySiloedViewCP|item_page.vertical_1

The LP linen pants work for me so far and are a good option when you don't want to wear a dress.

  8. Kristen was the most stylish/cutest preggo person ever! I have been stocking up on a lot of maxi and empire waist dresses so far. I've only purchased a beely - band for my pants. I am actually kind of excited to buy a few pairs of pants or shorts with those elastic bands... They look comfy!

  9. Oh my god. Could Kristin be any prettier?! I swear she's gotten better looking with age. She does pregnancy so well. I only hope to look like her when I'm pregnant! My luck I'll be a bloated cow!

  10. Kristin has the best maternity style - it helps having a pro football players bank account!! I try and wear a lot of non maternity tops but they are always seemingly too short. So maxi dresses for the win in my book!

  11. Dresses seem like the perfect option once the bump appears (especially come humidity in full-force!). Big congratulations to you all on #2!!

  12. I love both their styles (but cannot stand kristin!)! I did very little shopping this time around (although I had a great load of hand me downs). I found Old Navy and Gap to be great sources for maternity (and non-maternity) items to wear this time. Large 3/4 button downs, dresses and even some tees were great this pregnancy. I did have to maternity bottoms (I honestly HATE the gap skinny jeans because they stretch like crazy after a few hours and the band is so tight - it's weird). I tried the jcrew Minnie pants but the size was weird on me (but I'm so short, I think they'd be awesome on someone tall like you).
