30 Day Closet Remix Challenge with Kids & Cabernet

Hello Monday and August! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend, I cannot believe it is August already.

If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know that through the years I've done no spend months where I will pick a month and try (being the operative word) not to spend any money on myself for that month.  Last year I did it in July and the previous year I did it in January, July, and September.    I'm excited to announce that this year I've teamed up with Amanda from Kids & Cabernet to do a 30 Day Closet Remix Challenge for the month of August!

The idea is that for the next 30, technically 31 days of August I will "shop" my own closet to come up with outfit ideas.   I'm really hoping I actually succeed but I'm not going to lie and say that I'm not a little nervous!  I will admit that through the years I've ended up cheating on most of my no spend months but with our upcoming kitchen and first floor renovation I'm trying to focus on the bigger picture.

For the next 31 days I won't be buying any new clothes, shoes, or accessories for myself. I'm going to try to avoid unnecessary cosmetics too but if I run out of something I might need a refill and sorry I don't plan to go makeup- less for a month!

I will be posting my outfits on Instagram @eastcoastnat and will be using the hashtag #ecn30dayclosetremix to keep up.  I will also try to post my weekly outfits and do a big update on August 15th and again on the 31st.  We would love to have anyone of you all join us!!   You can grab the button below or join on instagram with the hashtag #ecn30dayclosetremix

I'm so excited to get creative with my closet and hope some of you will join us too.  Have a great week friends!

  1. This is such a great idea! I went on a shopping freeze in June before having Bennett and made it about 3 weeks. But, only bought nursing/baby stuff after that until he was born, so I give myself props for that lol! I would totally join you guys, but am excited to start wearing 'normal' clothes again! Can't wait to follow along and see what outfits you come up with! Love your style!

  2. Ok, I'm actually going to try and join you! I need to figure out what I actually wear in my closet and get rid of the rest. And don't laugh when I'm in workout clothes 75% of the time! Ugh.....hopefully this will be the motivation I need to put on some cute stuff! How fun!

  4. What a fun idea! I've never imposed a spending freeze simply because I never thought I could actually follow through! But I love the idea of creating more outfits with what I have!

  5. I absolutely love this idea!! I actually got brutally honest with myself this wknd & purged a bunch of things I was keeping for "when I lose more weight". Ha! How about I just reward myself & buy new when the time comes & open up some closet space!? I'm also going back to work soon & part of my closet clean out is to figure out exactly what I have for work & how I can wear items different ways. So, I love this & will def be tagging along!!

  7. I can't wait to follow along! I love the way you dress and I'll be looking for some inspiration, because I am seriously lacking in the clothing department -- yesterday I actually wore pajamas on a walk with the boys lol. Can't believe I'm even sharing that again!
