Thoughts on Thursday: Rosemary Beach Recap Part One

**Sorry I'm behind today friends, post is up now!**

Happy Almost Friday Friends!  Who's ready for the long weekend?  I know we are!  I am finally here with the first part of our Rosemary Beach vacation recap.

In the first week of May we traveled with my family to Rosemary Beach to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday.   My mom had mentioned for months that she wanted to go on a trip with the whole family, grand kids included, so when it came time to start deciding on destinations I knew that I wanted to try to go to Rosemary Beach.  I first discovered Rosemary beach via Darci at The Good Life and then when I saw Natasha's recaps the past few years I added it to our must visit list.  We are lucky that Southwest flies directly from Baltimore to Panama City for very reasonable rates and it's only a two hour flight so it isn't bad with toddlers.

We arrived around 11am on Wednesday and once we got our luggage and rental cars we headed to Rosemary Beach.  It's about a 20 minute drive from Panama City airport but a very easy drive.

Since it was about lunch time when we arrived and our house wasn't ready yet we went straight to Main st to find some food.  We ended up at Summer Kitchen cafe and it was so good!

I shared a dip platter with Matthew because he loves hummus and guacamole right now and then had a delicious side kale salad.

The Pearl Hotel is right across from Summer Kitchen Cafe.  I love the black and white stripes.

Our house was ready shortly after we finished up lunch so we headed over there to get settled in and get to the beach.   The house we stayed in was a few blocks back from the beach and it's name was Tennessee Lagniappe.  We didn't end up booking our trip until this past January when everyone could finalize dates so there weren't a ton of options left but this worked out great for us.  My parents stayed in the attached carriage house which was nice for them to be near us but to have a bit of privacy and be away from our loud kids if needed ;)  We booked our trip through 30AEscapes and had a wonderful experience with them if anyone is looking!

Loved the dining room chandelier!

I also loved this tv stand which is really a hutch with a wine rack inside and storage for dishes.

This is the room where Kyle and I stayed and I loved the furniture in here!  We're thinking of getting these bedside tables for our room but we're not sure if they'll be too small or not.

Our first beach day was beautiful.  The weather was around 80 with no humidity!

Since it was a long day of travel and beaching we decided to just stay inside and cook on Wednesday night.

On Thursday Kyle and I took the kids out in the morning for a bike ride to explore the area.   Our house came with four free bike rentals and we rented on a bike trailer so we could take the kids out. We rode down to Alys beach and road all around Rosemary.  The kids loved it and we loved getting to explore easily.

We then spent the day by the beach and pool.  The boys were so good about playing with each other and they both loved the water even though it was freezing!

That night we headed out to dinner.  We had planned to go to Cowgirl Kitchen but the wait was 45 mintues at 5:30pm so we went to Edward's instead.   Edward's was so good and was such a pleasant surprise since it wasn't on our list of places to eat.  We sat outside and they had live music which the kids loved.

A few of you asked about my romper on Instagram.  It's from J.Crew Factory last year but this one and this one they have look similar.  My white and platinum Jack Rogers are available for under $100 on the Nordstrom half yearly sale!

In order to keep this short I'm going to finish up the next two days in another post.  So stay tuned next week!

Current Obsessions: Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

We have finally emerged from the rain here in Maryland and I *think* we should be seeing the sun for the next few days.  You have no idea how much my mood has improved!  Being stuck inside with two toddlers who ask to go outside approximately 100 times a day and do not understand why we can't in the rain does not set one up for success.

Today starts the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale so I've rounded up some of my favorites below.  A great time to grab all these items since some are up to 40% off!

Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale 2016

You can never go wrong with a basic cotton maxi like this Lush one and my all time favorite Jack Rogers are on sale in two colorways for under $100!   The Dolce Vita Linsey sandals I also have are on the sale for under $100 too.  I've had my eye on that BB Dakota Heleen floral dress for awhile so I might need to make a purchase now that it's on sale.   How fun is that Kate Spade clutch and iphone cover for summer?!    Too much good stuff to get it all!

Do you have your eye on anything for the sale?

Thoughts for Thursday: Life Lately

Hi Friends! Sorry for the radio silence the past two weeks.  I didn't mean to take so much time off but it kind of felt good to have a little break!   I'm back and feeling refreshed.  Figured I would catch you all up on all we've been up to.

- I cannot believe that May is half way over and that Miller is finished school next week.  I am going to be so sad when it's over. I adore his teachers and he adores school.  He asks every morning if we're going to go play at Ms Patti and Ms Renee's house.  He's going to be so sad when he realizes we're not going back to play there again :(  Cue all the mom feels.

- I plan to have my full Rosemary Beach recap up next week! We had such an amazing time and it was such a gorgeous place I have so much to share with you all.  You have probably all seen this photo by now but look who we got to play with!  Annie was so brave and so sweet to drive almost two hours with both kids to come visit us!   It was so fun to meet up in real life and Miller and Brody were instant buddies.  She is such as sweetheart and fun as you would imagine her to be.   I only wish we lived closer so we could do this more often.

- If you've been following me on insta or snapchat you may have seen that were lucky Marylanders have had an a wet, gray, gloomy May so far.  I think it's rained pretty much every day this month.  I'm just about losing my mind being stuck inside with the boys so much.   I was even brave enough to take them to a indoor bounce house today because my friends convinced me to join them.  It was as gross and as crowded as you would imagine it to be but they loved it.  I'm pretty sure it was the best day of Matthew's life.  I had to drag them both out crying but they think I'm pretty cool and we burned some energy so it was a win for all.

- The one benefit to all the rain- our yard looks awesome!! If you remember we had the whole thing seeded and aerated and it was mostly dirt for a few weeks and now it's lush grass.  So in the end it's all sort of worked out for the best with this rain.

- We were lucky last Saturday to get a little sun in the morning before the storms rolled in.  We washed the cars and played outside all morning.  Miller was very into washing his own car.

- Since it was warm on Saturday I broke out my favorite J.Crew Factory tank and my new navy blue and platinum Jack Rogers.

- I bought my first Lilly Pulitzer popover and I'm obsessed!! It's been the best way to brighten up my dull boring still wearing winter clothes because it's cold wardrobe.   I now want it in every print.

- We met with our builder last night for our first floor renovations!  I'm feeling so excited and nervous as we start to narrow down exactly what we want.  I am planning to try and document the process this time around (more than I did last time.)   I'm thinking a lot of it will end up on snapchat, especially all my emotions so make sure to follow along (@eastcoastnat)  It's daunting trying to figure out what I want and don't to make this kitchen and sunroom right.

We're one day closer to Fri-YAY!   You know the drill, grab the button and link up below.

Current Obsessions

Happy Wednesday Everyone!  First I want to point out that I have a new feature on my side bar over there where you can shop my instagrams!  I usually share my outfit details in posts but now you have a handy little tool so they're easier to find and it will be updated quicker than my blog most likely if you're looking for something.

Moving on, there is so much good stuff out there right now!  It was hard to narrow it down to my favorites this week but all this dreary weather we've been having has me wishing for the sun and warm again.

My obsession with white continues.  Love the detail around the neck.

Loving this off the shoulder dress from Target!  The perfect light blue for summer

Even though button downs make me thinking of nursing, anyone else?!  I'm loving this coral cotton linen blend one from J.crew. I think it would be so cute with shorts this summer.

This dress gives me heart eyes, and it might be perfect for some upcoming weddings we have.

I've been looking for a pair of wedges like these for this summer but hadn't found a pair I loved until I stumbled upon these.  Love the leather with the jute covered heel.

I seem to be a sucker for embroidery too this spring, loving this soft blue color

This light gauzy dress looks perfect to throw on over a bathing suit this summer.

I know, I know white handbags are about the stupidest thing ever with kids but I've always wanted one for summer and this Tory Burch one is the perfect size.

These shorts look perfect to throw on after the pool or if I'm out playing with the boys, I love the bright colors them come in too. Especially this pink

Another dress I'm eyeing for weddings this summer.

Tassel tank from Old Navy, do I need to say more?!

Loving these sandals, I've seen them on a few people and they're even cuter in person.

These earrings!!

As if I don't have enough tassels on this page today, loving this bag from ON.  Cute and affordable!

This top with white jeans and shorts, the perfect answer to my love of chambray.

What are you obsessing over this week?

Life Lately and Teacher Appreciation Week

Hi Friends!

Last week Miller's preschool had an art night and auction event.  The kids had art work on display and then there was auction items for the parents to bid on to raise money for the school.  It was possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen and Miller was so excited to show off his work.

His is the smaller green one, his favorite color :)

It was very informal and laid back so the kids could show off their art and then play with their friends.

Since having kids my skin has been awful.  One day it's dry, one day it's oily, one day it's both. Then it breaks out, it's a never ending cycle.  I also feel like pregnancy just amplified my freckles and sunspots so I decided I wanted to do something about it.  I'm on my second week using Rodan + Fields Reverse.

I don't sell the products so don't worry I'm not going to sell them to you and I didn't get them for free either but I plan to do a full review at the end of my 8 weeks to see if I really got any changes.   The before and after reviews are what sold me so I'm hoping it really works.

On Saturday night we went out with friends for dinner and drinks. Nothing crazy but sometimes it's nice to just get out without the kids and enjoy adult conversation.
Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top (old, similar here)// 7FAM The Skinny (on major sale!!) // Steve Madden Wedges (old similar here, on major sale!)

May 1st is always the big May Day contest and festival in downtown Annapolis.  My mom's office is right on Main St so she always participates every year.  This year she did the basket herself and it turned out so well!
I love stopping by to see all the baskets the local companies and homeowners put together.

As many of you with kids know this week is teacher appreciation week!  We decided as a class this year to do teacher appreciation gifts and since I'm the room mom it was my job to put them together.  Since my sister was a teacher and I have many teacher friends I always try to focus on practical usable gifts for the teachers.   Miller has three teachers this year and they are all incredible.  He's a completely different boy than when he started in September and I know it's been their love and guidance that has gotten him there.  I will be so sad to say good-bye to them at the end of this month so I wanted to make sure that we did something special to know they're appreciated.

Miller goes two days a week so we wanted to have presents or treats for each day.  Today we sent in donuts, a fruit tray and a potted plant for each of them.  I opted for a begonia that they could plant in their gardens since I know not everyone is a huge fan of house plants or doesn't end up maintaining them like they should.

I found this adorable free printable that I put in each plant here.  Pinterest, Etsy and Google had tons of good free or cheaper printable options for Teacher Appreciation.

On Thursday there is a staff breakfast for the teachers before school so we are just sending in little gifts that day.   We decided to do a $10 gift card from Starbucks with the reusable hot coffee mug.   I just put a little tissue paper at the bottom of the mugs and put the gift cards in there.

I got the Thanks a Latte printable here and then I just cut them out with fun scissors and glued a little bow to each one.

Tomorrow we are headed to Rosemary Beach to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday and I am so excited!!  After this cold, wet, dreary weather we've been having I cannot wait for some sun and sand!
