Thoughts for Thursday: Beautycounter Review- What Products I've Tried So Far

Welcome back to another Thoughts for Thursday! Remember you can write about whatever you want and link up with us below.

Quite a few of you have asked me over the past few months how I feel about Beautycounter and what products I love and hate.  First off I don't sell Beautycounter.  I have just been on a mission to try and use cleaner safer products in my home so when I first heard of Beautycounter I had to give it a chance.  I'm not there 100% yet on using all clean products but I'm slowly replacing my products with cleaner safer options if I can find one I love.

If you don't know about Beautycounter or what their mission is you can read more here.  They are not only a beauty company but they are also on a mission to get our government to put more regulation on chemicals in personal care products.  Their Never List is what really got me looking into more natural safe products.  The never list is 1500 chemicals that they never use in their products, and to top it off most of these chemicals are banned in Europe but totally allowed here in the USA!

Now onto the good stuff.  I divided it up into skincare and make up below.  Feel free to comment or email me if you have any questions.

Skincare products I love:

Nourishing Cream Cleanser- I absolutely love this cleanser! One thing I hate is when a cleanser cleans your skin but then leaves it super dry afterwards, this never happens with this cleanser. You skin feels clean but not totally dried out which is what I need in the winter.

Eye Makeup Remover-  I just got this about two weeks ago and love it! I still use the heavy duty not safe waterproof mascara and I've had no problem getting all of it off with this remover.  I've been using Neutrogena for years but when I ran out decided to give this one a try and I'm so glad I did because it works better in my opinion.  If you use waterproof mascara you know how hard it can be to get all of it off and this seriously gets it all off without me having to go over my eyes 100 times.

Charcoal Bar- I used this bar religiously last summer because I always have more oily breakout prone skin in the summer and it really did help keep the acne at bay, plus it didn't dry my face out.  At the time I was alternating this with First Aid Beauty cleanser which I was using before I switched to BC.

No. 2 Plumping Facial Mask- I try and use this mask at least once a week and I definitely see a difference in my fine lines when I do. It has a great scent and feels good on the skin, I also think it helps to tight my pores and keep my skin clear.  I haven't tried the other two masks yet but will keep you posted when I do.

Soothing Oil- I think this oil is discontinued but I would say it's similar to the balancing oil.  I never used oils before trying this one and I don't know how I went so long without them! This has been awesome this winter for mixing with my moisturizer when my skin is super dry and needs a lot of hydration.  I will also use this alone to spot treat super dry patches of skin that I sometimes get in the winter and will wake up with my skin calmed and feeling so good.

Products that I just thought were OK:

Rejuvenating Eye Cream- I'm not currently using this one because it's just a little too drying for winter time. In the winter I need all my moisturizers to be heavy duty but I did like this in the summer for something more lightweight. I don't know that it really did anything for my fine lines though, but I'm not sure a miracle cream for those actually exists.

Cleansing Balm- I probably need to give this one another try but I just didn't love it for my skin.  I only tried a sample of it but I'm happy I did that before buying it because I knew I didn't love after only a few tries.  It just felt too greasy for me and I was convinced it was going to break out my skin.

Rejuvenating Toner Pads- I think this is just a personal preference but my skin just doesn't like toner. I know everyone says to use them but I swear they do nothing for me and just make my skin dry.

Make up products I love:

Lip Sheers- I cannot say enough good things about the lip sheers. I am hooked.  They are the perfect little hint of color for everyday wear without looking like too much.  I love Rose, Petal, and Twig for everyday.  When I used Twig I always top it off with the bare shimmer lip gloss- which is a must have! I also have Plum and Poppy for special occasions as they are a bit darker and brighter.

Lip Gloss- I am also obsessed with the lip glosses! BC just does lip products so well.  My favorite thing about the lip glosses they're not too thick and don't feel heavy on your lips.  My favorite colors are Dahlia and Bare Shimmer.  The Bare Shimmer is so good, I'm recommending it to everyone I talk to and I'm putting it on top of pretty much all my lip sheers! I also love the Poppy red color I got in the holiday duo and think it's great for an everyday red.

Ocean & Pacific Palette and Winter Jewels Palette-  these were both limited edition palettes I bought this winter and they're so good! The contain eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, and highlighter. In the picture above is the ocean & pacific palette and I swear by that bronzer and blush. They remind me of Nars Laguna and Orgasm! The winter jewels palette has darker eyeshadows that I have been loving for winter. I think the colors are really pigmented on both and actually last through the day.  If they ever bring either of them back out I say snatch them up if you can!

This is the extent of the skincare and makeup that I've tried so far.  As much as I want to run and purchase it all I'm going to probably be slowly adding it in as my other skincare products and makeup run out.  I promise to keep you all posted as I try new clean safer products.

Does anyone else use Beautycounter?
Do you have any other clean safe skincare and makeup brands you would recommend?
