Thoughts for Thursday: Kitchen Inspiration

Happy Thursday Friends!  We got a little snow last night and all the white has me dreaming of white kitchens. I mentioned on Monday we are getting the ball rolling for a kitchen renovation in our new house in 2016.  As you know if you followed along with my last kitchen renovation that white kitchens are my thing! There is just something so fresh and clean feeling about a white kitchen.

I've been gathering some inspiration on Pinterest and Houzz.  I'm thinking it will be similar to our old kitchen but there are a lot of new elements I really want to incorporate this time that I didn't last time.

This kitchen is a similar lay out to mine, only a little bigger.  I love the honed black granite on the main counter tops and then marble on the island.

Love the gray marble backsplash.  I also want a farm house sink this time and some cabinets with glass doors. (if I can keep my dishes looking pretty!)

Love the texture the blinds add to this kitchen and again the black granite with marble island.

This was one of my old inspiration photos from our last kitchen renovation and I still love everything about it!

This kitchen is much bigger than mine but I love the wall of windows and the floor color.

Loving the black honed granite again on the counters and the glass cabinets.

  3. I'm obsessed with Houzz...When we were doing remodeling I stalked that site everyday and now that we are done, I'm afraid to go on it to find something I like better. Great inspirations.

  5. Such pretty inspiration pictures! I love white kitchens too, but my husband doesn't share that sentiment, so we went dark in ours. I love it, but there's something about the brightness of a white kitchen. We have the contrast between our island and perimeter countertops and while I love the look of it, keeping the dark quartz clean drives me bonkers. EVERY speck of dust, crumbs, etc. is visible and I feel like I'm constantly wiping them down vs. the lighter granite on our island that is a bit more forgiving. If I was to do it over, I'd probably keep it the same as I do love the look, but I might have gone with something with more dimension (rather than close to a solid color) for the perimeter countertops.

  6. You can absolutely never go wrong with a white kitchen and you can save $ and find durable granite that looks almost identical to marble. I cannot wait to see what you do!

  8. Ohhhhhh you are speaking my design love language! White kitchens have me dreaming!! We just purchased our first home (kind of a fixer upper which is what we wanted) and I cannot wait until we finally do our kitchen! White cabinets, Carrera marble, a big white farm sink, and seriously those pendants in that first picture are exactly what I want above our bar! haha! So funny! Great taste and I can't wait to start following along!

  9. All of those kitchens are stunning! We've been looking into remodeling our old kitchen (dating back from the mid 90's) to something more modern. My wife and I are very excited to start shopping around for ideas and talking to people about making it happen. I really enjoy the spacious white rooms with rustic trims like a lot of the examples above!

  10. You really got some great pictures during your search. I am also in love with the honed black granite of that kitchen. Might be doing the same with our kitchen now in the summer. The wooden floors really match the white cabinets well too. Good luck with the renovation and I am sure it will turn out simply amazing.
