Thoughts for Thursday: Low Key Valentine's Day Gifts

Sorry about earlier today!  We finally got the link up working so you can link up below!   You know the drill.
Thoughts for Thursday

So Valentine's day is this Saturday! Do you all have big plans?  We tend to keep this holiday pretty low key around our house but I still like to get everyone a little something to make the day special.

Here is what everyone is getting in our house:

Low Key Valentine's Day Gifts

For the Kids:  Since the boys are still so little they are definitely not getting any candy and Miller does not need anymore toys at the moment so I opted for books.   I went with How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You?  for Miller and Llama Llama I love you for Matthew.  Miller is really big into dinosaurs right now and we have the How do Dinosaurs Clean their Room? book that he loves so I know he will love this one.

For Him:  Again no fancy gifts so I decided to get Kyle his favorite Cabernet, Joel Gott, and some of the Ghirardelli Valentine's Caramel Collection.  I will definitely be stealing some of those for myself.

For Her:  All I really want is this gigantic Reese's peanut butter heart and this Essie Sheer Bliss polish :).  Let's be honest who doesn't love chocolate and cosmetics?!  Plus I'll be having some of that wine of Kyle's so I don't need any for myself.

How do you celebrate Valentine's Day?  Do you go all out or do you keep it low key?  Anyone have a fun day or night planned?  We're just doing an at home date night after the kids go to bed, which I'm very much looking forward too.  Maybe we'll even get crazy and rent a movie.

Now it's your turn!

  4. Hi! A friend told me about this blog hop, so I wanted to try it out :) I actually don't really do Valentine's Day, but I'm all about the discounted chocolate and candy on February 15th! :)

  5. Low-Key plans are definitely the way to go! I'm definitely with you on the chocolates and nail polish, although I can't paint my nails for the life of me, so I'd be much happier with that giant Reese's and a good 'ole mani/pedi.

  6. Low key for us too! We love Valentines day but think it's too commercialized now.. We gift something before or after and it's the same for us :) xo

  10. Books are always the perfect gift for our littles! I actually got Eric the giant heart reeses and sneaky little Mia got into it all by herself and ate a chunk of it before we even realized what was happening, HA HA!
