Friday's Fancies: Crush on Leather and Fur

I pinned this photo below of my favorite socialite and fashion icon Olivia Palermo awhile back and I can't stop thinking about the leather and fur!

Now if you know me this is so not an outfit I could ever actually pull off but I still love it none the less, so I figured this would be perfect for my Friday's Fancies Outfit Crush!

Outfit Crush

That Bensoni Fur vest is TDF so I had to include it but I would pair it with the The Row Waffle knit Cashmere sweather and JITROIS black leather leggings.  I think leather leggings are so fab and if I had an extra $2000 lying around I would totally get a pair!

Since this is my fantasy I would pair it with the YSL Large Cabas Chyc tote, Real diamond studs, Michael Kors classic gold watch, and Karen Walker Perfect Day Sunglasses.

You will NEVER catch me in a pair of sneakers unless I'm working out so I decided to pair this outfit with some classic Tory Burch Revas instead to keep it a little more me.

So what do you think of  leather and fur?  Could you pull this outfit off?  Are you into the high top sneaker trend?

My Skin Care Routine

Since I turned the big 3-0 this year I decided to start taking my skin care a little bit more seriously. It's not that I was lazy before but I just had a big mismatch of products and my skin looked blah.

I decided to do something I've never done before and actually buy all my products from one brand, to see if using one brand for everything made a difference.  I decided to try Origins because I have used some of their products before and liked them and because I am really trying to use natural plant based products as much as I can.

I have very sensitive combination oily/dry/acne prone skin so I'm always looking for products that will reduce oil without further drying my skin and most importantly not make it break out!   I spoke with an Origins rep for awhile at the store going over all my wants and needs and here is what we came up with.

I've been using the products for about 2 months now and below are my reviews:

Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Routine by ecnat5 featuring an origins skincare

 1. Never a Dull Moment face cleanser- so far I liked this cleanser but I don't love it.  I feel like it leaves some residue on my face.  When I run out of this I'm going to try their Checks and Balances Cleanser which I've used in the past and liked.

2.  Purifying Tonic Toner- I never used a toner before but I am actually really liking this. I feel like it is really getting my skin clean and helping to control the oil without drying out my skin.

3.  Dr. Weil Mega Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum- So far I am loving this serum.  I have fair skin with some freckles and sun spots and this really helps to even out my tone

4.  GinZing Eye Cream- I am the queen of black under eye circles. I have actually had people ask me if I have a black eye. This stuff has been amazing at brightening and de-puffing my awful under eye circles

5. VitaZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer- this is a tinted moisturizer and it was perfect this summer.  It really gave me the brighter skin glow that I was looking for but is light weight enough that it did not bother my oily skin.  I used this all summer with a pressed powder and blush and did not reach for my foundation once!

6. High Potency Night-A-Mins Oil Free- I must confess I never used a night moisturizer before.  I always thought a night moisturizer would make my sensitive acne prone skin worse, I was so wrong.  This stuff has worked wonders and hydrates my face at night which helps reduce oil during the day.

What's your skin care routine like?  Do any of you use Origins?   Anyone have any miracle products for combo/sensitive/acne prone?

Life Lately

If you can tell from my lack of blog posts I have yet to get on a schedule, I swear I'll get it together one day!

Until then here are some photos of what I've been up to lately...

1. Me and the hubs went to a Nationals Game which was blast until the monsoon hit and we had to run for cover
2. I wore my fall transition outfit that I blogged about here out to dinner with my college roommates and they loved the booties with shorts!
3. My husband has no patience so when I asked him to get a cart at the grocery store this is the first one he came upon.  Yes it was for kids and yes I made him push it the whole time.
4. I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte the second week of Sept even though I swore I would wait until Oct- it was amazing and I've had 2 more since!
5. At my job we always joke about vintage Avocado appliances, I knew they existed but I finally got to see them in person. This is a portable dishwasher from the 70s, it had a matching fridge and stove!
6. View from a house I was showing a client
7. Picked up some Green Mountain Pumpkin Spice coffee soo I don't break the bank at Starbucks
8.  September PopSugar Must Have Bag- it was amazing- I will share details soon!

I have spend the past 2 weekends traveling to Philly and Milwaukee- will be back soon to share about those trips!

Friday's Fancies: Football Frenzy

TGIF!! Are you all happy Friday is here?  I know I sure am!

I didn't really become a football fan until college and I didn't really get any fan loyalty until I met my husband (then boyfriend) and he turned me into a Philadephia Eagles fan!

Friday Fancies: Tailgate Style

Friday Fancies: Tailgate Style by ecnat5 featuring shirts & blouses

I am not a jersey wearing girl, it's just not my thing, so I've always tried to have team pride while still looking chic! Even in college at Maryland I would wear a black or red polo shirt with jeans skirts (I swear they were cool back then) or jeans.
The Eagles green can be a very hard color but I found these Current Elliott Jeans which are perfect! I would pair them with the Madewell Ex- Boyfriend Chambray shirt to keep it comfortable since it's a Sunday.  Obviously I need to spice it up a little bit with the Tory Burch leopard flats and chic Tory Burch Carlin Satchel.  I always need my Ray Ban aviators just in case I actually get dragged to a game or if me and my girlfriends decide drinks on the deck is more fun while the boys hang on the couch!

So do you have a favorite football team?  Do you dress up for games?  Are you a jersey wearing girl?

HomeGoods: Stylescope Quiz

Yesterday I received an email from HomeGoods featuring their new Stylescope Quiz. As you know I am a die hard HomeGoods fan so I could not resist the quiz.  HomeGoods teamed up with Taniya Nayak who you probably recognize from HGTV to put together a one question style quiz to help you discover your design personality.

You simply choose 5 images out of 36 that speak to you and get your result, a description of what your result means, and tips on how to acheive the look.

 Here is what I got:

Set Sail is as laid back as a warm breeze off the ocean. She's inspired by sun-washed blues, soft, sandy whites, nostalgic, nautical stripes, and coastal elements. She saturates her home—and thus, those around her—with a sense of calm so palpable you're almost sitting dockside when you visit her.

I love the result.  I would say I probably have more greens than blues in my house but I am a neutral girl all the way and I have tons of nautical and beach elements through out my home. I live near the water so this really defines my true preppy sense of style.

What to take the Stylescope quiz for yourself?  Click Here
Then come back here and let me know what you got as a result and if you think it's close to your real design personality!

**This is not a HomeGoods sponsored post in anyway, I just enjoyed the quiz and had to share it with my readers**

Materialistic Monday

I need this bag.  Spotted on the arm of my favorite style icon- Olivia Palermo.

It's the Meli Melo Thela bag (a british brand) and OP owns it in Tan and Taupe.  It is available in a variety of other colors for fall such as navy, black, and burgundy.

Isn't it gorgeous? I'm so obsessed.  It retails for $807.76 American dollars, which isn't cheap but the quality of leather of versatility of the bag may be worth the price.   Maybe I can convince Santa to bring me one this Christmas?!

Transition to Fall

**First off thanks to everyone for your advice on my last post. You all had some great ideas and some of you made me feel much better about myself :)- Promise to keep you posted on how my scheduling goes**

Every year as I get older I get more and more excited for Fall. I used to dread fall (probably because I was dreading back to school)  but now I get really exicted for the cooler weather and the excuse to stay inside lounging around.
One thing I struggle with every year is how to transition my wardrobe from summer to fall because let's be honest it's still hot and humid here in Maryland so I'm really not bringing out the pants, long sleeves, and sweaters just yet.
One idea I'm going to try this weekend is shorts with booties. Yup, all my friends will probably make fun of me because I know people either love or hate booties but I LOVE them.  I wore them with tights pretty much every day last winter so I decided to branch out and try them with shorts.

Here is my outfit planned below:

Transition to Fall

Ever worn shorts with booties? How do you transition your wardrobe from summer to fall? Any fall trends you're looking forward to?

How Do You Schedule Your Time?

When I left my 9-5 desk job to pursue a job in self employment I thought that having flexible hours and getting to work from home would give me so much time to get more accomplished. Not only with my job but I imagined myself being so organized that I would blog every day, grocery shop at Whole Foods during the week, cook (healthy and delicious) dinners nightly, pick up my dry cleaning on time, and have lunch with friends at least once or twice a week.

I was wrong.

In reality it seems that I have less time and I am constantly running out of time.  I work later hours,  I get to the dry cleaner after its closed, I've barely cooked this summer, my blogging has sucked,  and I feel like I have zero time to see my friends for lunch or even after work because I'm usually working late.   I can't figure out if I'm busier than I was at my last job or if I just have AWFUL time management skills and now that I don't have a boss looking over my shoulder I don't stay on task.

This is how I feel every night:

So tell me how do you schedule your time?  Do you have a strict after work schedule?  Do you have pre plan blog posts or schedule them before hand?   When do you find time to work out?  Do you cook every night- any quick dinner tips?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!
