Let's Chat

Hi Everyone... how's it's going?    Did you all watch The Bachelor last night?!  Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse with Carly's awkward date Kelsey showed us her true side.

"Isn't my story amazing?"  "This is the unfolding of somebody who's been through something so tragic, and you get to watch her pick up the pieces"

I mean she went straight up cray after she talked to Chris.  WTF?! Is she trying to be Amy from Gone Girl or what?!  I really thought she was going to be a dud when I first saw her but ABC must have seen a glimmer of crazy in her eyes to keep her this long.  I'm so interested to see what happens with her "panic attack".  She may be crazy but she does know how to play the "game" which is just pissing off most of the girls.  Especially my other favorite crazy Ashley I.  Someone send her home already.  She won't last one day in Iowa.

- Life with two kids has really caught up with me lately.  I'm not going to lie the first few weeks weren't actually that bad but the last few weeks have been really tough.  Matthew is almost 3 months old and  has "woken" up in the last week.  He coos and smiles and babbles to us and it's wonderful.  It also means that he sleeps less during the day which means I'm being pulled in two directions at all times.   While Miller seems to be enjoying a more awake Matthew he is also even more jealous than he was a few weeks ago.   I've been trying my best to share my time equally but it's really hard and I always feel like one kid is getting the short end of the stick.   Mom guilt is the absolute worst.  Kyle has also been really busy at work and traveling a lot and parenting two kids alone is now joke.
Our freezing cold weather is not helping here and I forced the boys out on a walk yesterday since it was 42 degrees.  We only lasted about 15 minutes but it was nice to get some fresh air.  Of course today is 23 degrees.

- I feel like I just can't get caught up with my own life.  Is this what life with two kids is like??  The best way to describe it is that I have a to-do with 100 things on it and every day I only get through 1 or 2 things and then I add five more to the list.  I just feel like I can't get ahead.    I hate that feeling.  We are working on getting a cleaning lady and I can finally take Matthew to the gym tomorrow so I'm hoping both of those things will help me feel more organized/in control.

 - I have at least 10 posts in my drafts right now that I just can't get finished.  I love this blog but right now it's just taking a back seat to my busy life.   I hope you all will bear with me. Hopefully this is just a phase and I'll be back in my groove soon.   I am also so behind on reading blogs which I hate because I hate not knowing what's going on with all my "internet friends" as Kyle calls you all.

- In good news my birthday is this weekend :)

  2. I can't imagine how tough it is with two littles around, you're doing great even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes. Hang in there, they are your priorities right now and everything else (even that to do list that keeps growing) can wait!

  3. First, Happy birthday week! Yay for cleaning ladies! That should help the overwhelming feeling a ton. Sharing my time is the single most thing I'm anxious about with having 2 kiddos! I already struggle with mom guilt and I can only imagine the guilt that comes along with wrangling 2 babies. And OH.MY. The Bachelor! The crazies are the ENTIRE reason I watch that show. I just love every second of it! There are just so many on this season and they are completely over-the-top! Have a fabulous birthday week, friend!

  5. I don't watch the Bachelor, but the drama seems great lol. It will get better with the two, promise! And don't beat yourself up with your to-do list, you're only one person. A cleaning lady would be a BIG help. I have one and it frees up so much time and makes you feel so better and focused once the house is clean. Go for it!

  6. Yayee for your bday! Hopefully you get a live in nanny for it? Ha. I am sure it's tough with 2...I am sure in a few months you will feel differently.

  7. Kelsey is a nut case. I wouldn't have thought by the previews either that she would turn out to be the crazy one, and the Kardashian wannabe needs to go (AShley). I promise it gets easier with two kids. I'm sure it is harder that you are having to deal with the winter. I had Katelyn in the summer which gave us much more opportunities to get out and do things. Once he can sit up it will be a game changer!

  8. I feel asleep before all the Kelsey craziness last night but I will catch up on DVR. This season is just weird! I can't imagine how tiring having two littles ones must be, I'm sure you'll find your groove soon.

  9. Kelsey is absolutely insane! I'm also not really sure how I feel about Britt this season, I really liked her at the beginning, but I'm just not sure anymore. I just wish that him and Jade or Becca would run away together and call it a day!

  10. ABC certainly had a gift for finding the crazies!! I want to really love this season, but there are legit too many wackos and most of the good girls aren't getting any camera time!

  11. Two kids is no joke! You're doing such a great job though!!! A cleaning lady and some gym time will be great for everyone! They are the two biggest game changers for me, so I really hope they help you!

  12. Hang in there! Between the winter and the adjustment, things may be hard right now but I promise they'll get better!! I think the cleaning lady and gym time will help you more than you realize. My to-do list never seems to shrink either but I think that's just life so don't let it stress you out too much! Would your mom be willing to take Miller one morning a week so you can get out with just Mathew to run errands? Or maybe get a sitter for a few hours every week just to give you some time. With Kyle gone so much you have to make sure you're getting some time to yourself as well! And just take a deep breath and remember that parenting is a rollercoaster!

  14. Kelsey is cray cray! Makes for great TV! I totally understand the feeling of not being able to accomplish daily tasks with the little ones and I only have one! Can't imagine what it's like with 2! That's nice you are getting a cleaning lady! I may have to convince bill we need one :)

  16. ohhh i remember all so well how at around 3 months the babies finally starting "waking up" and they are a little more work. It was at that time with Brody that I attempted to "go back to work from home", but I wasn't able to get anything done because he needed my attention so much more!!! I think it will be great to be able to get to the gym with both of them. It will make you absolutely LOVE working out just to get that peace and quiet away from the kids and it helps break up the day a bit too!! I feel like I am so behind on the blog right now too. I just can't finish up all the draft posts either... We're almost birthday twins too. Mine is the 12th :)

  18. Kelsey is a lunatic. Straight up looney tune! I wrote about her (and the bachelor) on my blog today, too. There was SO MUCH to talk about after this insane episode haha!

  19. I hear you with the to do list! By the time I have time to get to my list I'm too exhausted to do anything!
All the commentary on the bachelor this season has me wanting to watch!!

  20. Loved your Bachelor Bit! Kelsey is straight up kray kray!

And, hang in there, mama! That to do list will never get done. Sooner or later you'll be able to scratch a few things off simply because they don't matter any more! (and this is coming from an uber control freak who LOVES crossing off things from my to do list).
