Thoughts for Thursday: Life Lately

Thoughts for Thursday

It's been awhile since I've done an update so I figured it was time.

I've hit the 36 week mark. Can't believe I only have 4 weeks left? It feels really far away and really close at the same time.  I also feel gigantic and huge and people keep asking me if I'm going to "pop any minute now"

My Dad and  I took Miller to the  aquarium for  the first time last week. He really loved all the fishes until he discovered the escalators and then all he wanted to was  ride the escalator up and down... go figure

I'm slowing working on trying to reduce paci time during the day.  It isn't the easiest but we're working  on it. I love seeing that little face without a paci on it.

The  weather has been so perfect here that we've been spending a ton of time outside.  In typical boy fashion he prefers sitting and digging in our flower bed.  It seems that him and Layla conspired to dig this hole together when I wasn't looking.

So  our groomer accidentally sent Layla home with the wrong family on Tuesday. Yup.  She went and lived with Abby's (the goldendoodle who was still at the groomer when I got there) family for a few hours.  I'm still completely confused as to how an owner can pick up the wrong dog!!!! The other doodle definitely looked like Layla but was definitely NOT Layla. Layla is a total hyper psycho who hates the groomer and constantly barks while she's there. The other doodle was so well behaved from what I could see. I just don't know how you mix that up. I mean it's the groomer's fault for giving the family the wrong dog but can't you tell your own dog apart from another! Let's just say Kyle and I were livid and I was afraid Kyle was going to kill someone at the groomer's. We clearly won't be going there again. Thankfully she was back home safely with us by 6pm that same day.  I didn't even care if she snuggled up all over my pillows I was just happy she was home :)

We are finally getting the nursery finished around here.

You may have seen this sneak peek on instagram. I'm so so excited about how it's all coming together!

I have so many freaking baby clothes. I had no idea that I had purchased so many Miller but I'm excited that his little brother gets to wear some of his outfits again.

this is just a small portion of the 0-3 and 3-6 clothes

One advantage of having babies close together and friends who want to get rid of extras...

So many newborn, size 1 and 2 diapers I might not have to purchase any for months!  We loved the Honest diapers but they didn't work for Miller. They were too rough on his sensitive skin and gave him horrible diaper rash. I'm really hoping they work for baby #2.

I originally didn't plan on fall decorating because I was afraid with a new baby I would never take it down in time for Christmas but I changed my mind and decided to start breaking it out. I probably won't go overboard but I thought a little something would be fun.

Now it's your turn!

  10. Look at you nesting away! I'm dying over the fact that family didn't know it wasn't their dog? I can't even. It's a good story now, but poor baby girl at the time!

  11. That is so crazy about the dog switch up! I agree, how do you not know that you have the wrong dog?! Glad the mixup was figured out and the correct puppy is back to you!

…and what a great diaper stash! We've been using those Pampers newborn swaddles which are working really well for us. Huggies…not so much. I'm disappointed to hear that you didn't love the Honest Co diapers. I have a few packs in size 1 and I'm hoping they are not a total bust for us. I love that they have cute prints that are not cartoon characters!

  18. Ok, i've been a creepy lurker on your blog for a while...until now...I cannot keep my mouth shut with the groomer incident (I have a labradoodle). OH.MUH.GOD. I cannot imagine picking the wrong dog up from the groomer! Granted, I don't have real babies yet and my stupid dog is my baby, but STILL. Also, shame on the groomer. So weird. Also, really, really, reallllly random...but I think you know my brother (Andy) in real life. In fact, I believe one time, many moons ago, I used your ID in College Park to get into a bar! ha! Weird, huh? Small world, as I just completely stumbled across this blog.
