Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

Hi Friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their friends and family.  I can't believe we are only two days from December! I am so happy the Christmas season has officially started. We have some very excited boys in my house that cannot wait for Santa to pay a visit.  I haven't done much but I have started Christmas shopping. While it's nothing big, it felt good to get a few things checked off my list. Have any of you started yet?  Tell me I'm not the only last minuter!

We kicked off the long weekend on Wednesday night once Kyle got home from work.  We headed out to Coal Fire for pizza and to look at the big Christmas tree near our house.

There is nothing I love more than a thin crust brick oven pizza...

I cannot get over how big my boys look here... time is going by too fast!

Ended the night with some chocolate covered pretzels

On Thanksgiving morning we drove up to PA to celebrate the holiday with Kyle's family.  It's a pretty easy two hour drive but we ran into a more traffic than we anticipated so it took closer to three. Thankfully the kids slept most of the way and were ready for their cousins when we arrived.

How adorable are these Turkey cupcakes Kyle's cousin made?!

Dessert was the only meal my kids were interested in

This was about the best we could get this year, it's not the most flattering of me and Kyle but I love the kids expressions :)

Friday morning I started off the day with a cup of coffee and a big slice of pumpkin pie.  I don't usually love pumpkin but the one my in laws had this year was amazing!!

Friday we took the kids to the park, then out for lunch in West Chester and then we visited with some of Kyle's high school friends and their kids.  Our friends have this old swing set in their backyard with the steepest slide I've ever seen, of course my kids loved it.

We drove home Saturday which ended up being an easy drive and the kids napped the whole way!  We decided to take them to a local nursery to see the holiday train display and Santa (but they wanted nothing to do with Santa).

We then headed to dinner while we waited for the tree lighting at the town center near our house.  I enjoyed two very delicious margaritas.

The tree lighting was such a blast.  Our kids are at that great age where they find everything so amazing.  Miller just could not stop staring at the "huge gigantic Christmas tree from Santa"

Sunday was spent doing chores around the house and getting organized for the week, oh and browsing all the sales!

I did so well all weekend and then went on a shopping spree on Cyber Monday! I'm telling you, they suck you in with the threat of the sale ending!!

Here is what I picked up below:

Did any of you shop Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales?   Pick up anything good!

**I think I'm finally in the swing of things and able to pick up my regularly scheduled blogging.  I've missed this space and reading everyone's blogs.  Life is so busy these days, I have no idea how some of you blog and do all the 100 other responsibilities you have have. Phew!

Happy Christmas Season Friends!

Thoughts for Thursday: Current Obsessions

Happy Thursday Friends!  Thank you to everyone who links up with us every week.  Remember you can write about whatever you want and link up below.

This week I've rounded up the things I'm currently obsessing over along with some new purchases I love!

You can never have too many sweater dresses and these Socialite ones are affordable and easy to throw on and dress up or down.  Love it in gray.

This sweater has been floating around blog land lately and I'm thinking I need it.  It looks like it lays well and the open back is a fun added extra.  I just have to see if it's long enough for a tall gal like me.

One of my favorite skirts from J.Crew Factory! I get a new color every year and you can't beat them!

How adorable is this dress?  Perfect for Thanksgiving, work, or upcoming holiday parties!

This sweater gives me all the heart eyes!! Love the back lace detail!

I'm pretty sure I write about these wedges every year but they really are a classic that cannot be beat.

I have been drooling over this coat for the past two years. I love J.Crew coats and last year I had to say goodbye to my beloved toggle coat I got in college because it needed all new lining and was just too expensive to fix.  So when J.Crew had 30% off last weekend I sprung for this one and I love it!! I went with black because I love nothing more than a classic black winter coat.

Love this bell sleeve dress for winter.  I'm lacking winter dresses and this one looks like you could really wear it year round depending on the shoes you choose.

You know my love for J.Crew Factory jewelry and these are on the top of my wishlist this year.  I just think they would add a little something extra to a basic black dress.

I've been drooling over Annabel Ingall totes for years but this fall I feel in love with the Bibi tote in this gorgeous tan color.  I decide to splurge on it for my new fall bag and I'm obsessed!  The quality of these bags are so nice and the leather is gorgeous.  I love that is very simple and can go with many colors and prints this fall and winter.

How cute is this top from Lush? I love the olive color and think it would be adorable with jeans and  boots.

My favorite hat from J.Crew Factory is back in stock again this year!! These sold out really fast last year so I you want one then act fast.  This year they come in black, gray, and cream.

How cute would this dress be for holiday parties this year? Love the lace detail around the neck and on the sleeves. I also love the green.

We started to do some window shopping for new furniture and decor once the renovation is finished.  I'm obsessed with this mirror from Wisteria and I'm trying to find place for in the new house.   Wisteria has so many good mirrors if you're on the hunt for one I suggest checking them out.

I love champagne and I've been looking for some stemless champagne flutes but never find anything that I love.  I saw this at Anthropologie this week and I'm kind of obsessed.  The stars would be perfect for the holidays.

How cute are these holiday tea towels?!  I'm thinking this might be a fun Christmas buy this year.

Life Lately and a $300 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway!

Hi Friends! How has everyone been lately? Can you believe we are halfway through November? I can't. I'm so excited for the holidays but also sort of panicking about how quickly they are approaching.

- We are all settled in to living in the townhouse during the renovation.  We went from about 3500sqft to 1300sqft but it's been going really well.  It's also made me realize how much stuff we have and how much stuff we don't really need!!  I'm hoping to give you all a little tour of the space soon. Our hope is that we can really do a big purge once we move back to our house after the renovation and try to live more simply.  We'll see if I can actually follow through ;)

- Is anyone watching Westworld?  We are obsessed! We missed last night's episode but plan to watch it tonight.  It took me two episodes to get into it but now I'm completely fascinated.

- My kids are sick again this week. We just cannot catch a break this fall.  I feel like we're sick for 2 weeks then finally better and then wham! sick again!  I'm finally breaking down and giving essential oils a try.  My sister is bringing me some tomorrow and I'm hoping that this will help us all get well and stay well.

- The wall between our family room and sunroom came down on Friday and I just can't believe how much bigger and more open the house feels!  I cannot wait to see how it looks once the floor is raised and the wall is framed out.  These aren't the best pictures but it's hard to capture exactly how it looks with supports still up.

- Have you shopped Sephora's VIB sale?  It ends today so you better hurry if you haven't.  I shared my picks yesterday here.

- I'm working on some fun holiday gift guides that I'm hoping to have up soon. I promise not to bombard you with them since I know every blogger does them but I always get so many good ideas from them and I love to share the good deals I see.   Are there any gift guides you would like to see in particular?

-Finally and best of alll... for the next week, I am teaming up with Annie from Home of Malone's and 16 other fab bloggers to give away a $300 Amazon gift card to celebrate Annie's blogiversary! It’s the perfect opportunity to get yourself {or someone else} a wonderful gift for the holidays! The more ways you enter, the better your chances are! The giveaway ends on Friday, November 18th, at midnight. Good luck and be sure to check out all of these fab blogs!
