But that washable twill fabric and blah khaki color makes them feel dated/country to me. They're super comfy and I've tried sprucing them up with throw pillows but they'll never be my favorite. I can't wait to move them to the playroom and replace them with a better choice.
melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16301750140963605016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8122460381875054574.post-86193824604294218092016-08-15T16:37:10.773-04:002016-08-15T16:37:10.773-04:00Furniture is a great investment of a living room. ...Furniture is a great investment of a living room. I LOVE option #1 ... I think mixing in the white is really the only way to go to make you happy. It opens up the room and actually mixing woods and colors is pretty "in" now anyway. My second pick would be option #3. Darker, yes, but I love the natural wood color. Just stay away from darker drapes and darker frames when you hang things! XO! If I were you, I would do one of two things: a) I'd buy some white side chests and stain the top dark to match the chests, so it gives more of a cohesive look, or b) I'd try to repurpose or resell the chest you purchased. I've had great luck reselling pieces on craigslist, and I think the taller chest would look beautiful as storage in another room.
Good luck!! ~Hannah (www.HannahAtHomeBlog.com) Hannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11348619310291758839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8122460381875054574.post-43861860714994469912016-08-11T14:47:50.624-04:002016-08-11T14:47:50.624-04:00I like the all white, makes it look so clean and s...I like the all white, makes it look so clean and serene!! That thought scares me but I do know there are some great online tutorials. She painted her entire entertainment system console (HUGE piece) which is the focal point of the main room of her house and it looks great. It was even darker than your dressers. She also swapped out the wood hardware and put in gold hardware. Brilliant! I say give painting a try as long as your plan it really well.Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03162020113804695806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8122460381875054574.post-39664808200213279622016-08-11T12:30:22.395-04:002016-08-11T12:30:22.395-04:00I love the first option and the 3rd! LOL! I like the furniture you picked, but I'm confused about your bedside tables...you want to buy light/white end tables to mix with the darker Pottery Barn pieces? Even though I don't think furniture needs to match, none of them look like they go together, but if you still want to go that route, the last set looks the best to me. As for regretting furniture pieces, no, I've never regretted buying furniture right away, but I do regret buying furniture years later. I have so many pieces of furniture that are very dated, yet cost a lot of money and are still in pristine condition, so I feel I can't replace them.Amy Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11878073765579182362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8122460381875054574.post-46779161574157227072016-08-11T10:17:05.471-04:002016-08-11T10:17:05.471-04:00YES! I really like the cream in the last option bc it softens the difference in finishes between the wood and paint. I bet it will look amazing when it's finished!
