Then use pops of color in the accents you put on the shelves or you could do a color (or patterned) back in them - either with paint or wallpaper. And if you don't want all white on the fireplace, what about a whitewash, that leaves some of the brick color? I can't wait to see how it turns out! How do you...The brick totally needs to be painted. How do you feel about gray tones? You could totally pull off a nice gray if you decided to repaint the walls. Also if you go with a light gray you could pull of a nautical blue on the cabinets and shelving. I was in on a job where they did the brick black a few months ago....that can look good but for your room I'd stay away from dark colors. It seems smaller and narrow and you need to keep it looking large. I just envision a big mirror in that room. Well you have me sitting here drawing out ideas for your room....LOL thanks! It gave the fireplace more of a gray look and it still had lots of definition. I think it could be the happy medium for you all in that room.
