Thoughts for Thursday: Currently Loving

Welcome back to Thoughts for Thursday! I decided to give you all a break from all the baby talk I've been doing this week and instead share some of things I've been drooling over.

Remember you can write about whatever you want! Just grab the button and link up at the bottom.

Thoughts for Thursday

How fab is this coat? I'm pretty sure it's not newborn friendly  (and I don't have anywhere awesome to go) but it would look really good in my closet

This sweatshirt has my name all over it! Cute and Comfy.
Do you still wear bootcut or flare jeans? I still have a few pairs in my rotation and love these Paige one. Paige is one of my favorite denim brands.

Ally posted about these Joie linen shirts and they looked perfect so I started hunting for some on sale. I found this one above from Neiman Marcus Last Call for $47 when they normally retail for $168! I ordered it last Thursday and it arrived on Tuesday. I went with my pre-pregnancy size and can't wait to wear it post baby.

How cute is this plaid scarf and even better it's only $22!

J.Crew just introduced this bucket bag and I love it! It also comes in a great army green and saddle brown.

I recently bought new mascara and was between this one above and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes. I ended up buying the Tarte and I do not like it at all :(. It's just too thick and never comes off.  I've seen quite a few people raving about this one so it might be my next try.  Does anyone have a mascara they love?

I love a simple gold cuff bracelet

I found these while browsing One Kings Lane and love them! I think they would be the perfect accent to a Thanksgiving or Christmas table this year.

What's in my Hospital Bag?

Since I have about a week left before baby boy #2 arrives I figured it was about time to get my hospital bag packed!! I honestly can't remember what I packed for Miller but I remember having a lot of stuff I didn't need so I'm trying to keep it simple this time around.

What's in my hospital bag?

For Me:
  • Comfortable Nightgown- since I'm having a c-section I don't want anything near my incision site so a nightgown is key. I was lucky enough to snag this exact Ralph Lauren nightgown from Marshall's for $25!
  • Robe- since I'm going to have to walk the halls 400 times before I can leave post surgery I want to have a robe to layer over my nightgown/hospital gown. I have this lightweight one from Target and love it.
  • Nursing sleep bras- much more comfortable than regular nursing bras and I like to have the extra support
  • Slippers for walking around and flip flops for the shower
  • Boppy pillow/nursing pillow- for c-section mamas I found it necessary just to help prop the baby up in my lap when I was still in pain and sore
  • Nursing Pads- I swear by the Lansinoh brand
  • Lanolin nipple cream- I used this from the get go last time and again I liked the Lansinoh brand
  • My own pillow in a colored pillowcase- don't use white or it might get mixed up with the hospital pillows
  • Hair dryer, hair brush, hair ties, bobby pins/clips
  • Toiletries and make up
  • Lotion and chap stick- I remember the hospital air being very dry
  • Insurance card and ID
  • Ipad, Iphone, Camera and all chargers
  • Going home outfit

For Baby:
  • Swaddle blankets- but will probably just end up using the hospital blankets while we're there but these will come in handy if it's chilly the day we take him home
  • Going home outfit
  • An extra outfit or two
  • Pacifiers- my hospital will NOT give them to you so I have to bring my own
  • Car Seat

For Dad:
  • 3-4 comfy outfits and pajamas
  • Slippers
  • Snacks
  • Pillows
  • Toiletries

Is there anything I'm forgetting?!

I'm not bringing diapers, wipes etc because the hospital will have a ton. I'm also not bringing my own underwear because the mesh undies are AMAZING and all I could handle wearing post c-section last time.

39 Weeks- Ready or Not!

How far along? 39 weeks**
A few people have asked me about repeat c-sections and the dates you deliver. Most repeat c-sections are done when you are 39 weeks.  My original due date was November 4th but then they changed it to November 11 and then they talked about changing it back to  November 4th because the baby kept measuring over a week big on all sonograms which would put my c-section at this week in October.  I was seeing a Maternal & Fetal Specialist for all my sonograms and he decided that since Miller always measured really big on his sonograms but was in reality a normal size baby at birth at 40 weeks 4 days (7lbs 13oz at birth but measuring 9lbs on a 40 week sonogram) they were going to keep my c-section date the first week of November. So technically I'm 38 weeks but measuring a 39 week pregnancy and since they're taking me early already they didn't want to take the baby too early.   It's also much easier for me to just say my due date is November 4 rather than  going back and forth and explaining.
I know that probably sounds confusing to many of you but I just wanted to explain.

Baby Size: According to the what to expect app the baby is 19-22 in, 7lbs and the size of a pineapple

Total weight gain/loss: 35lbs- I've been holding steady at 35lbs for the past 2 weeks so I think that's my final weight tally unless I suddenly swell up in the next week. I was hoping to stay around 30 but I'm totally ok with this and hope it's as easy to lose the second time as it was the first (fingers crossed)

Maternity clothes? Yes! There are some non-maternity clothes that I can miraculously pull off with this huge belly but even some of my maternity shirts are getting too small.

Sleep: Ohh sleep, I'm not even sure I remember what that is anymore. Between being in the too big to roll over and getting up every 2 hours to pee stage and having a toddler that hates sleep I'm lucky if I get 5-6 hours total.

Miss Anything?  Alcohol! I am just dying for a gigantic bottle glass of red wine

Movement: Yes-this little guy moves non-stop!!

Food cravings:  My ice craving has greatly subsided since I've been taking the iron pills for about 8 weeks now. I still enjoy chewing it but I don't have to have it all the time.   Right now I would just say I'm in the "oh shit I only have one week to use pregnancy as an excuse to be a fatty so I'm eating EVERYTHING" cravings.   My sweet tooth is out of control and I'm actually hoping that starts to subside after I have this little guy.

Food aversions: Nope

Symptoms:
Braxton Hicks, Sore lower back, Running out of energy quickly, Getting up to pee every 2 hours at night, Heartburn, Ice chewing, Huge belly, insomnia, sore hips, hard time rolling over,

Gender: Boy!

Happy or Moody:  My emotions are all over the place!! I can go from about to cry I'm so happy to raging bitch in about 2 minutes. Kyle's officially terrified to say anything to me because he isn't sure which person he's going to get!  I just keep apologizing over and over and reminding him I have zero control over these damn hormones. ;)

Looking forward to: Meeting this little guy!! My c-section is scheduled for next week unless this guy decides to make an appearance earlier.  I still have some things I need to get done before his arrival but I'm hoping to have those all checked off my list by Friday!

Weekend Recap: Pumpkins, Date Nights, and Baby Names

Hello Monday! I can't believe you're here again so quickly! I swear my days are going by so fast lately and the weekends even faster.   Since we don't have too much longer before baby #2's arrival we tried to pack in as much as we could (and as much as my huge self can handle).

We finally made it to the pumpkin patch this weekend! It's not an actual pumpkin patch it's more of a fall festival event a local nursery holds every weekend from mid-September until the weekend before Halloween.  You are able to pick your own pumpkin from but they also offer hayrides, corn maze, pony rides and lots of games for kids. They also have all your favorite festival food such as funnel cakes, fried oreos, BBQ, french fries, etc.  We've been so good the last two years and avoided the food so we could bring home some apple cider donuts.  The apple cider donuts are so, so good.

Getting Miller to sit still for a photo is pretty much impossible these days so this is the best I could do. I'm still not sure how some stranger got him to smile for the family photo!

" Let go of me mom!!"

I was trying so hard to get a cute picture of Miller's monogrammed pumpkin shirt but that's the best I could do.   It's from the Etsy shop Kalamity Kids. They have great monogrammed options for holidays and beyond.

I wore my new BP shirt that I posted about on Saturday and I'm obsessed!  For $16 it can't be beat! I only wish I had discovered them earlier because they're perfect for pregnancy.

Kyle and I had another date night on Saturday. We are totally on a roll lately with date nights and taking advantage of my parents volunteering to help. (before we have two kids and they want nothing to do with us ha!)
We went to Tsunami one of our favorite Annapolis sushi places for dinner.  Even though I have to stick to the cooked stuff it was still so good!

I tried a non-alcoholic beer at dinner called Bitburger Drive. It's a German pilsner and it was ok,  I mean I haven't really found a non-alcoholic beer that I looove but it does the trick in the mean time.

After dinner we headed next door to 49 West Coffeehouse and Winebar for dessert.  Kyle had some more wine and I had a decaf cappuccino.  We then split the most amazing pumpkin cheesecake which I didn't even get a picture of because we ate it too fast.  We asked the waiter where it was from and it was from the same bakery that made our wedding cake!!   If you're local it's Cakes and Confections in Annapolis. I think we're going to order one for Thanksgiving this year.

Sunday was spent doing chores around the house like installing more baby gates,  laundry, cutting the grass, grocery shopping etc.  Miller loves when Kyle is home on the weekends and pretty much follows him around all day copying every thing he does.  He is all boy and it's so fun to watch him try to be like his Daddy.

Helping Daddy install baby gates

Watching Daddy mow the lawn (Kyle's out there I swear I just snapped the pic as he was out of the view)

So remember when I said we picked our baby name for baby boy #2... well now we are back to undecided.   Kyle threw out another name that we strongly considered for Miller but didn't really consider  for this little guy and he thinks it might be his new #1. I on the other hand am sort of stuck on the one we were 99% on last week.  Ughhhhhh.  I think at this point we might just wait until we meet him next week and see which name fits him best!

In other new the nursery is almost finished!! I just need  my dad to hang a few more things  for me and hopefully it will be ready before baby boy arrives!

Saturday Shopping: The $16 Tee You Need

So I cannot take credit for this find but I had to share it with you all!! Yesterday Meg (if you don't read her blog you should- she has two of the cutest little girls I've ever seen and dresses them in best little matching outfits) posted these shirts on for Friday Five and I knew I had to have one (or three!).

I was heading to the mall anyway yesterday before I read her post but when I got there I went straight to Nordstrom BP to try on these shirts. First of all you can totally pull them off pregnant (even huge gigantic pregnant) and I'm pretty sure it's going to be even cuter post baby.   The top is nice and long so it works great for tall or long torso girls. Meg suggested going up a size (which I did anyway) but for a looser fit I think that would be best.  Like I said it even has no problem covering my huge baby bump.

The shirt comes in three stripe color options and seven solid color options:

I suggest everyone go get themselves one or five!!

Friday Five

TGIF! I can't believe another weekend is here already. Despite spending most of the week inside with a sick toddler the week still went by fast!  We have a really busy weekend ahead of us trying to cram in everything we need to do before baby #2 makes his appearance!

Here are five things on my mind this Friday:

1. The Neighbors
We watched The Neighbors last weekend after everyone recommended it to us.  I will say that shirtless Zac Efron was delicious to look at but I didn't really find it as funny as I thought I would. It was definitely funny but people made it sound like it was the funniest movie they saw this year which I wouldn't agree with.  Have you seen it? What did you think?

2. The Whole 30
Has anyone tried The Whole 30?  Kyle and I really need to clean up our diets. We've been so bad lately. We eat a lot of sugar and being busy and exhausted has us turning to too much processed foods or take out.  We've been thinking about trying The Whole 30 (might be too strict) or a Paleo diet to jump start us back into eating healthy and clean again. In general we're pretty healthy eaters and enjoy working out but could use a little jump start. I don't really know if I believe the hype behind some of these diet methods since a new program comes out every few years "That will change your life" so I would love to hear from personal experiences.  Has anyone tried either of these? Have any advice?

3. The Lob
I am finally getting my hair done next week. I'm going to a new girl that a bunch of my girlfriends love so I had to wait forever to get an appointment but I'm really excited!  I originally planned to keep it long to let it grow out more but now I'm considering getting a Lob, or long bob.  I don't really want a major cut but I'm kind of in a hair rut so a change might be nice.
Here are some inspiration photos:

4. The Affair
Is anyone else watching The Affair on Showtime?  We watched it this week and are totally hooked! I'm loving seeing the story from two point of views  and can't wait to see what happens.

5. Pottery Barn Cambria Dinnerware
The dinnerware we received for our wedding (5 yrs ago) is in such bad shape. Pretty much every plate and bowl has a chip in it and it looks awful.  Plus it no longer matches our new kitchen.  I've been eying the Cambria set from Pottery Barn in stone because I've heard good things about Pottery Barn dinner wear and I love how neutral and simple this is. Does anyone have PB dinnerware? Does it hold up?

I hope you all have an awesome weekend!

Thoughts for Thursday: Life Lately

Welcome back to another Thoughts for Thursday!! Remember you can write about whatever you want. Just  grab the button and link up at the bottom!

Happy Thursday!  This week has gone by so slow and so fast at the same time. Sorry I'm running behind today.

- We didn't actually make it to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. Kyle ended up having to work most of  the weekend and I didn't have the energy to take Miller alone and have to chase him all around. We are finally going this weekend-  no excuses!! Especially considering I bought him a shirt specifically for the pumpkin patch that he needs to wear :)

- Kyle and I did sneak out for a date night on Saturday night. Nothing fancy at all. We were going to take Miller and at the last minute my parents offered to watch him so we jumped on the chance to eat alone.

The best family photo we could get:
(I'm officially rocking pregnancy fat face)

I'm totally enjoying these last few weeks of pregnancy to eat all the dessert I can:  #thisiswhyIhavefatface

-My horrible sleeper has been on a roll this week with waking up in the middle of the night. Last night he was up from 11:30-3am.  He does have a cold which I know is part of the reason but man am I exhausted.  I have no idea how I'm going to handle the newborn sleepless stage.

This is what happens when you don't sleep at night...
He just passed out in the cart. Never seen this happen before but trust me I took full advantage of my peaceful shopping trip

- I don't care what Food Babe says, I still love my pumpkin spice lattes:

-We finally have some of the baby stuff set up and Miller is very interested in it. He likes to unplug it and swing the swing really hard... I think I'm in trouble.  Looks like baby boy #2 is going to have to strapped down with a helmet on since 15 month olds don't really understand "gentle."
 (the cover is being washed)

- 38 Weeks!! I can't believe I have less than two weeks to go until I meet baby boy #2. I have so many mixed emotions this time around and it's so different from having your first.  I'm excited but nervous.   Nervous for my new role as a parent of 2 (!!!) under 18 months old. I'm nervous about how Miller is going to act. I worry about hurting his feelings. I worry his strong personality is going to have me paying less attention to his little brother. I'm still not sure how I'm going to love two kids when Miller has been my whole life for the past 15 months. I worry #2 won't sleep either. I worry he will cry a lot.  I worry I'm never going to lose my baby weight. I worry I'm going to lose my mind.

- I went out for a much needed Mom's night out with some new mom friends and it was so nice! While having some glasses of wine would have been even better it was still nice to get out baby free and enjoy some adult conversation.
I wore my J.Crew swing sweater which still fits over my 38 week bump!!  I highly suggest this to all my pregnant friends!  My bump goes straight out and is huge, plus I'm tall, so if it still works for me I know it would work for most pregnant girls.

it's on sale for $59.99 right now and you can get 30% off with the code TGIFALL bringing it down to $42

Currently Loving

I've been eying this blouse for awhile now. Since I'm tall I'm always on the hunt for tops that are long enough to wear with leggings or skinny jeans and this looks perfect.  Now I just need it to go on sale!

Love the stripe detail with the elbow patches. I'm loving elbow patches this season.

How fabulous are these booties? I think these would be great paired with a dress or skinny jeans.

I don't need another bag but I stumbled upon this while browsing the Banana Republic website and fell in love. It looks like a great size and love that it can be carried on your arm or cross body.  Plus BR always has the best leather purses on my experience that will last forever.

I still haven't tried the Loft Lou and Grey line yet but I've been hearing great things about it! I used to buy most of my work clothes from Loft so I'm happy to see them venturing into the casual clothes arena. This sweater looks comfy and perfect to pair with leggings. Has anyone tried Lou & Grey?

On the hunt  for a new watch and I love the double wrap leather band on this one.

I love champagne and drink it all the time during the week as my drink- no special occasions needed! (when not knocked up) I've  been looking for stemless champagne glasses when I came across these on the Anthropologie website.  Adding them to my Christmas list- aren't they fun?

I'm pretty sure everyone knows  about the infamous Maya Brenner initial necklaces. Well  I just found out they can do multiple letters and now I think I need one with all  my boys initials on it.

What are you loving these days?
