Due date

Yesterday was my due date.

(thanks for the reminder just in case I forgot)

Today I am officially 40 weeks 1 day pregnant. I know that only 5% of babies are born on their due dates and most first time moms are late but it was still hard to see this day arrive and go by.

Besides the first 16ish weeks or so I have had a great pregnancy. I really can't complain. I've gained an amount of weigh that I'm happy-ish with (as happy as you can be about weight gain,  I've had minimal swelling, Baby Boy has been active and healthy, I've been able to to maintain my pre-pregnancy activity level, I've been able to eat what I want and continue to exercise.

But...

I'm done.  I want my body back.  I want to be able to bend over. I want to be able to sit down with my legs closed. I want to shave my legs without injurying myself.  I want to be able to roll over in bed in less than 5 minutes.  I want to sleep in my own bed. I want to actually comfortably sleep.  I want to have a large caffeinated coffee.  I want to eat raw sushi.  I want a huge glass of wine.  I just want to be me.

Clearly this little guy is just too comfy.   I'm hoping he decides his birthday should be the last week of June and not the first week of July.  I'm not sure I can make it another week.

Sorry I'm being whiny. I just had to vent.

Five on Friday

I'm back this week with five things I'm loving right now.

1. Annabel Ingall Isabella Tote

While I was begrudingly waiting in the Apple store for them to tell me the fate of my iphone two weeks ago this girl walked in with the most gorgeous leather bag I had ever seen.  I immediately made a beeline for her and asked her where she bought it.  She proceeded to tell me she got it from a small boutique in FL., which made me want  to cry because that's always my luck.  As I started to thank her and walk away she said wait the designers name is on the inside and thats when she showed me Annabel Ingall tag. I thanked her profusely and once I received my new phone I immediately googled it and have fallen even more in love with the bag and the designer.
How gorgeous would this be for a summer tote?

2. Fresh Mozzarella and Basil Bites

We planted fresh basil in our herb garden this year so I had to pin this recipe the minute I saw it.  Is there anything better than fresh mozzarella and basil?! Our basil is currently out of control so I'm hoping to make these and maybe some pesto to freeze to keep me busy while I wait for baby boy

3. Liz Lange for Target Maternity Long and Lean Tank

These are seriously the best tank tops ever.  I know I have written about them before on here but now that my belly is gigantic and it's summer time I have been living in these.   They are so comfortable and the size small still fits over my huge stomach.   I have a long torso so lately it's been hard to find tops that will cover my belly but this fit the bill and to top it off they are only $12.99 a piece!  I know I will continue to wear these even after I have the baby since I love them that much.

4. Dunkin Donuts Decaf Iced Coffee

In the summer I love nothing more than treating myself to a big iced coffee.  Since I'm supposed to be avoiding caffeine I have been getting my fix by drinking decaf or half caff iced coffees from Dunkin Donuts. I get mine with cream and 1 splenda.  How do you order your DD coffee?

5. Tart Collections Maxi Dresses

If you have never owned a Tart Collections maxi dress then you are missing out.  They are the BEST maxi dresses ever.  Hands down.  Not only are the styles flattering, fun, or sexy but they are also made out of the softest cotton ever.  I could seriously sleep in the two that I own.   Even though they can be pricey they show up on Rue La La, Gilt, and Ideeli often so that is where I pick mine up.  I just bought the above "Tiffany" dress from Rue La La for $90.00 to wear this summer post baby in a fun purple color.

39 weeks or 3 Days until my due date!

I have been so busy with trying to tie up work and get organized that blogging has just fallen to the back burner but I'm hoping to get back into it in the next few days.  I also have about 1000 blogs to catch up on- I'm so behind.
 How Far Along:
39 weeks 4 days- 3 days until my due date!!  I can't believe my due date is almost here- I know that this date doesn't exactly mean anything but it's crazy to think that I will have a baby within the next week or so now for sure.

Maternity Clothes:
Yes probably 90% of the time- I can still wear non maternity dresses and yoga pants
Stretch Marks:

Best Moment of the Week:
The nursery is organzied!  I wouldn't say it's fully decorated or complete yet but I have it all organized and things are where I want them to be.

Catching Up

- I'm still pregnant- 38 weeks now and now time is moving s-l-o-w-l-y

-I'm on my 2nd new Iphone.  Let's just say I have truly learned my lesson regarding backing up my phone!!! Not only did I lose so much stuff from my first phone, I then lost all the pictures from my work baby shower last week on my 2nd phone in addition to all the other pictures and apps that I had just added to the new phone.   Thankfully this new one was free because Apple sold me a faulty piece last week.  Let's just say I'm about 2 seconds from getting a Droid.   I am also waiting at least 1 week before I start re-adding apps, pics or music to this new phone.

-I have been so busy with work these past few weeks. I really can't complain at all because it's so nice but being 38 weeks in 80 degree weather driving all around MD showing property is exhausting.  Plus real esate is always on. There are no weekends, no holidays, no set hours.  It can be very difficult to turn it off.  Being the control freak that I am I am having a very hard time realizing that I will be leaving my clients for awhile and having to turn it all off and give my work to someone else.  I'm very nervous.

-To top all of this off our basement flooded last Friday.  Oh it was amazing.  We knew we had some small water spots so my Dad came over to help Kyle pull up some carpet and investiage.  When we got home Friday night after work to check it out the whole basement was flooded.   Let's just say about $1000 later from Home Depot we have dried out the basement ourselves. We've also ripped up a ton of carpet and had to do a bunch of furniture moving.  Not exactly something either of us was looking forward to but thankfully nothing major got ruined.   The only upside is that my husband is now excited to take on a tile DIY project in the basement.  Fingers crossed he follows through.

-Does anyone else's puppy wake up at 5:30am?  I've decided that Layla is giving us practice for the baby but since I sleep horribly at night I could really use at least one more hour if possible before I lose sleep forever.

-I finally packed my hospital bag.  I hope I've packed everything I need. I like to think that labor isn't going to happen so quickly that I will have time to edit if needed.

-I am also convinced I am going late so I keep trying to tell myself that I might be pregnant for 3 more weeks or so and not to get my hopes up.

-Have you all seen Princesses Long Island on Bravo?? OMG it's amazing.  It reminds me of college. University of MD gets a ton of people from NJ and Long Island so it's like re-living some of my college memories again which is why it might be soo amazing to me. Every sterotype they portray is pretty true.

-My office threw me a surprise baby shower last week.  I was so shocked! It was so nice and Baby Boy got so much more stuff!! I seriously am not going to need new clothes for this kid for the first year.

-Is it Friday yet?

37 Weeks- Full Term!

How Far Along:
37 weeks 3 days- less than 3 weeks or 18 days to go!
 Baby Size:
According to What to Expect: Watermelon- approx. 19-22 in long and around 6.5lbs

Total weight gain/loss:
I've stopped looking- thanks to all the swelling I know this number is getting scary

Exercise:
It was over 90 degrees at the end of last week and over the weekend so my daily two mile walks were cut to 1 mile because both me and the dog were too hot, even at 7pm!   The weather has subsided so I'm hoping to resume these

Maternity Clothes:
Yes probably 90% of the time- I can still wear non maternity dresses and yoga pants

Stretch Marks:
So far so good, I'm getting nervous for these last few weeks though

Sleep:
I started sleeping in our guest room and it's been amazing! I still wake up 2-3 times a night to use the bathroom but the bed is much firmer than ours which has been great support on my huge belly and hips.

Best Moment of the Week:
I don't really have a moment in particular this week- I think it's crazy that June is finally here and we're getting so close to D-day.  I think we're both finally ready and aware that Baby Boy H could be here any day now.

Miss Anything:
Just the usual: pre-baby body, alcohol, sleeping on my back, being comfortable, and raw tuna

Movement:
Yes lots of large movements- I think he's starting to run out of room in there

Food Cravings:
I still like hot and spicy but no crazy cravings

Symptoms:
-SWELLING- I totally jinxed myself last week! Thanks to the over 90 degree heat my ankles and feet are huge!   I'm thankful it's stayed away from my face and fingers but it still is not comfortable at all.   My the end of the day I have full on cankles.  It's sexy.  The heat has subsided today so I'm hoping this will help.
-Sore hips
-can't tie my shoes without sitting down
-heartburn/indigestion
-getting hot easily
-a huge belly that gets in the way of everything
-my belly has dropped

Anything making your queasy or sick:
Nothing in particular but my heartburn is still going full force

Have you started to show yet:
Yes

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
I do think he's dropped down further because walking and sitting has become more uncomfortable but other than that, nothing.

Belly Button- In or Out?:
It's pretty much flattened out- I don't think it's going to pop out though

Wedding Rings- On or Off?:
Still On!

Happy or Moody?:
Happy-  my energy boost from last week has subsided slightly but I'm still feeling pretty good for being this big and pregnant.

Looking forward to:
Finishing up everything!  I was doing so well staying ahead of the game but work has been crazy busy lately so a lot of baby stuff has been put on the back burner so we are working hard to get it all finished up this week so we don't feel rushed if he makes an early appearance, I'm starting to doubt he will though :)

No Phone Weekend

**this is a dramatic bratty post but I just had to vent**

I dropped my phone on Friday night and the LCD background broke. So my screen is fine I just can't see anything because there are blue and black lines running across it.  I can still receive calls and texts etc I just can't see them.   I was incredibly over dramatic about the break and almost cried.  My phone is my life line and I use it for work so I was pretty upset.

I also happened to have a completely packed weekend with work, baby class, and social obligations so I have had ZERO time to get the phone fixed or get a new one. Well that and I spent plenty of hours on the phone and in person with Verizon and Apple and it seems no one is sure what to do with me and my situation.   I have an appointment at 11am today at Apple so I am praying they can fix my phone and I don't have to purchase a new one.

I feel so disconnected from everything without my instagram, email, text messages, facebook, candy crush, etc right at my finger tips!!  Fingers crossed I have a phone before the day ends today!!

Happy Monday!
